@ikadiggit Same! If Northwestern doesn’t accept me, I have Case Western acceptance already.

@MasterThinker Woo! Major?

ey! i got Case as well!

@ikadiggit Biological Science. Going to do pre-med. Maybe ChemE if premed doesn’t work out.

Congrats guys!! Way to go

@nrk0530 Thanks. NU is still my first choice though.

@MasterThinker Cool, I applied for Mech. Eng.

@Daisy15 Congrats!

Never posted on College Confidential before but since we are so close to finding out results, I figured it’s worth it after lurking on here for weeks waiting on an email. I’d just like to say you all have been wonderful in terms of keeping enthusiasm up for Northwestern given the pressure of the admissions process. I hope we all get in on Monday! Let me know if you’re applying as a political science major as well.

I’m going for Biology

Northwestern is definetly better for me over lower Ivins like brown, Penn cas, Cornell, and schools like duke. I decided between those and Dartmouth, Columbia for ED, but decided northwestern was the place for me. I like the feel of the campus while having the urban Chicagoland area right there also. Northwestern also has the best school spirit because of BIG 10 athletics and Greek life. Sick college experience. The programs are also great for me, MMSS, Kellogg certificate program. And ability to dual major and still minor, etc. really could not find this combination elsewhere.

Sure I would love to attend Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, or Wharton, but those schools are such crapshoots that I felt comfortable going with NU for ED.

@siphwe idk about you but i much rather go to northwestern over yale, harvard or any Ivy. I applied because it’s my favorite college over any of the others…

As a current freshman and bio psych double major (premed) at Northwestern who also applied to Ivies, here are just a few reasons to get pumped about NU:
-Obama visited us (while Harvard got Biden)
-Robert Downey Jr. visited our law students
-people here are soooo nice!
-the whole nerdwestern/northwasted thing is true. you an find yourself having incredibly rich, nerdy conversations during the day and have a ton of fun at night.
-so much school spirit (we beat notre dame!!)
-therapy dogs came for stress relief during exams
-Big Sean concert on campus!
-capture the flag in tech (huge science/math building)

If you decide to come (which you should) get ready for the best 4 years of your life. The people you meet are some of the nicest, quirkiest, most brilliant people you will meet. Wishing you all the best of luck with admissions decisions!

That seems pretty awesome… Wow, now I’m super excited.
Let’s just hope I get in!
I have pretty low stats but I’m praying for the best!
Thank you for taking your time and reaching out to all of us worried kids.
@RNS1995

@RNS1995 Did I just hear you mention Robert Downey Jr.? And capture the flag in tech???

@ilovemycat What do you consider low stats? If you don’t mind me asking

As in my act was not a 35/36; wasn’t the president of all of the clubs I was in; volunteer work-meh; didn’t find the cure to cancer
yknow. Stuff that colleges want to hear kinda thing.

@ilovemycat I feel ya. I never got good SAT scores, but got lucky with a 34 ACT, and I’ve also gotten several B’s. And I truly have very little volunteer work.

@ikadiggit I am applying to ME as well! hope we both get in !!!

I’m just really worried I won’t be “good enough” for them. But if there are better applicants than me, then they deserve it. It’ll be okay, I guess. I’m trying to look at my possible rejection in a positive way lol.
@ikadiggit

@FailedHardAsian Ditto

@ilovemycat Yeah I think most of us are trying to mentally prepare for a rejection…
