** Official Northwestern Class of 2021 Discussion Thread **

@Vlau0707
Where did you get the 8% about rate stat from?

Probably even lower for international applicants applying for financial aid (like me) haha but still excited or the results no matter what

Which state or country are you all from? From Singapore here! (just curious and just really nervous about this even though decisions are only known a month later oh god)

I’m from China ( which is a big disadvantage for me), but I have been studying in the U.S. for four years.

I’m from India!
After China I’m in the most populous and competitive international pool
Let’s see
I totally second you @epistemicuriosity123 !!

IL US

603 internationals have applied ED
last year 106 were selected ( 20 % increase).
As the number of selected internationals has increased consistently by about 20% for the past 2 years, my (very) rough estimate would be that about 130 og the 603 internationals will be accepted (20% acceptance rate boohoo)

I really just lost hope now… this anxiety is really getting to me.

Just watched Northwestern welcome cat videos for an hour

LOL yeah same here two weeks ago…

You’re not alone in thinking that :-S but let’s not lose heart just yet hmmm

@Zpower99 YES same!! It’s the moment when you just want to watch every video related to Northwestern :expressionless: I spent many hours scrolling through last year’s ED thread urgh too intense

The higher number of applicants means Northwestern will take more students. Not by much though. They took about 1067 last year and this year my guess is 1100. The acceptance rate will decrease rapidly however. Nonetheless, I wish you guys all the best of luck and go through life with the same passion regardless of your admission decision.
Peace out!

ugghhhhh lol

Class of 2020 had the same worries too, but they are the class with the highest ed apptance rate now. Although the amount of ed applicants had been increase by a significant percent yearly, the apptance rate never stop increasing. #God please bless class of 2021, the last generation of 20th century born children"

I also applied to NU. So nervous now

Can’t deal with the stress!!!

Me in the morning: Haha I will be fine if I can’t go to NU. If I don’t get in then I won’t go.
Me in the night: Watching “college rejection letters reaction” videos on YouTube and cry out loud.

Where else did you guys apply?
