Upstate NY! sorry ndsocal
If you are from CA im guessing you won’t get it today…

Son got a big white envelope in Roanoke Virginia

No prob sydsoccer! Congrats as well! And, you’re right-- I probably won’t hear until tomorrow. Saw someone from CA receieved rejection today (sorry to hear that btw) so not sure what to expect in the mail…

I got my package today in New York City. Can anyone please answer my above question? It’s really silly, but when I applied, not sure how it works for RD but I applied as a QuestBridge finalist back in October and didn’t get ranked. But when I applied, I believe that I had the opportunity to rank which college I wanted to apply to. So, if it’s Mendoza, I’m definitely going.

Thanks! Good luck to all! And sorry as well about the CA rejection :(

I remember being in the same position three years ago. Like mewers and riogemino, my mom received my letter while I was at work for the night. She went alittle further than you two and actually opened it (She did the same thing with my brother’s Northwestern letter) Fortunately, I had been accepted. I know that this time is very anxiety-filled and many of you will or have already gone through an array of emotions. However, I wish good luck to all still waiting for decisions to arrive.

hey beautyandvogue, i am pretty sure I read somewhere that ND accepts you to the University itself and then you can pick what course of study you want to pursue. I used the CommonApp and put “Finance” for my Major Choice and it says "As your familiarity with various intellectual disciplines increases, you will gradually identify which college, and then which department or program you prefer to enter. For our planning purposes, please indicate the college and the major subject you now believe might be your preference. This will be your “intent” for the time being, but it may change as you progress through your studies. "

Hope this helps! And congrats on your acceptance :)

Yes, all freshmen are enrolled in the First Year of Studies (FYS), and a major cannot be declared until the second semester of sophomore year. Everyone needs to take the same core courses. The core courses you take freshman year will, however, depend on your anticipated major. Ex: students who anticipate being engineers will take a different calculus class than an anticipated business major, etc. Future engineers, science, and pre-med majors will take lab sciences. Future Arts and Sciences students need 2 science classes, but they don’t need to be lab sciences. Keep in mind that it is easy to start as an anticipated engineering or pre-med student and then change later to business of arts & science, but it’s very hard to go the other way without an extra semester(s).

any international got decision?

Thanks sydsoccer! Looks like I might be going then!

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Not sure why rejected. When I put my rejected into Naviance for my school it looks so funny. There are all these accepts and then me way out to the right as a denied. ND was about 7th on my list of schools but there is still something annoying about being rejected where you thought you had a real shot. It just seems like a crapshoot. I’m in at Wash U, Vandy, USC, NYU and Michigan but so far denied at ND and Virginia and waitlisted at Georgetown.

ny2phx, don’t take it too hard. My son has a 34 and he got into ND, but was waitlisted at Wash U and Vandy! It’s all a crap shoot. You’ve got some great choices there. I totally hear you on the Naviance issue, though. Same deal for my son. What a strange year this year is.

Thanks sdysoccer. I knew Notre Dame would be a stretch, so it’s okay. I did get into their sister school, University of Portland, and they gave me a great scholarship, so it’s all good. Waiting to hear from Tufts (another reach school) and then I’ll decide. So far it’s between U of P, University of San Diego, and George Fox University (although they might be a little too small). Congrats to everyone who gets accepted and, for those who don’t, there’s another great school out there for you!

Accepted today in Tennessee! I think what got me in was my double legacy status. I’m very happy.

Waitlisted in Minnesota. That’s okay though because I still got accepted in my other top two school: Northwestern :)

Well friends at my school got their acceptances, so I’m guessing my rejection letter is coming tomorrow.

Congrats to everyone who got in/is getting in. I’m hoping to join you all come Sophmore year as a transfer. It’s been the only school I’ve wanted to go to since I was 4 and I have been the biggest Irish sports fan and just fan of the school in general. The school is perfect and it sucks big time to be rejected from the thing you wanted most in your life, but I’ll make it through!

Congrats again to everyone, and Gooooo Irish!! South Florida game in September can’t come any quicker! All you new Irish better be loud, cheer and be the 12th men and women that help lead out program back on top, where we belong! Be proud to go to the best damn school in America! God, Country, Notre Dame!!

Rejected. (not even waitlist!)

Seems odd because I was accepted at Vandy and Wake. 34 ACT, Catholic school all my life, AND older brother graduated from ND (and did very well).

Probably will go to TCU because they offered me a lot of merit aid and I plan to go to med school so want to have some money for that. My parents are blown away by how much ND cost has gone up since my brother graduated a few years ago-- and worried that there is apparently no upper limit.

Good luck to you all. It is a beautiful place and my brother really enjoyed it.,

At Notre Dame, all freshmen are admitted to the Freshman Year of Studies. You go into the colleges in your second year - no separate application process, you just state where you want to be.

Not too much activity going on here…must mean many states have yet to receive their ND letters am I right?
