Notre Dame sounds like an awesome place and I can't wait to visit. It's going to be real tough for me to choose between UCLA (whom I've been a fan of since the age of 5), Stanford (it's Stanford), and Note Dame which seems to have such an awesome atmosphere.

D was deferred, now waitlisted. She's brokenhearted as ND is her dream school. Dreading two more months of uncertainty. But hope springs eternal.

to nemo2001...
I'm actually from marian high school (St. Joe's catholic rival) in mishawaka. About 25 to 30 people applied regular from marian so i think that might have hurt my chances a little. So far i only know of 2 people from my school who got in regular and both of them have parents who work at ND

to irish68178 and nemo2001...
so basically i have a better chance of transsfering from a school like George Washington as opposed to Holy Cross? From what you've seen, what kind of gpa do you need to transfer in? My sister actually transferred into ND from St. Marys with i think a 3.65 but that was almost 6 years ago.

Almost, it is my opinion (and I have had admissions people tell me) that you are better off going to a true four year school than Holy Cross (plus a lot of people apply to transfer from Holy Cross, as long as we are on the same page and are talking about HC across the street from ND). You can talk with transfer admissions if you wish but this was the advice they gave me three years ago (been a while) when I was strongly looking at Holy Cross. That being said, I do have friends who have transferred from Holy Cross, and they do have it setup so that you will exactly match the ND first year of studies which is vital for transferring. However, if you are willing to do the work to match the first year of studies elsewhere, I do think you would be better off at George Washington. That is my opinion however and it may be worth asking admissions too.
