Just an FYI My son can log in already because he attended Summer Scholars last year. The decisions are not posted yet. But it now lists his application for fall of 2017 along with last years summer scholars application 2016. The message after clicking application is: that decisions will be posted late March.(he has a pin# and id)
Can anyone confirm it is 5 days after they send the first email? Technically 5 days after Monday (yesterday) wouldn’t be till Saturday, and seems unlikely they would release on a Saturday.
@pizzapie7515 it was for REA in December, email sent Wednesday and portal updated on Monday. I’m hoping it’s Thursday or Monday if they won’t do St. Patrick’s Day.
Good thing I read the rejection letter before hand, because if that appears on my portal, I wouldn’t make it past the first line.
I will go with my dates of speculation of the last 2 months, 16th or 20th. I’m favoring the 16th.
I see what you’re saying but just seems odd that it would come out Thursday, only three days after the email was sent. In addition, the 16th is only one day after the 15th, which they considered mid-December, so the 16th doesn’t fall into the category of late-March
I think decisions are going to come out on Friday, March 17, St. Patrick’s Day.
Last year it was Friday, March 18. In 2015, they released on Friday, March 20. And in 2014 it was Friday, March 21.
And it’s later in the day, after the office is closed.
But who knows, this year could be different.
I am actually terrifed to open the letter at this point, i’ll probably have someone open it for me cause i dont think ill be able to
I was able to log into my portal before the ED decisions but I was deferred…so yeah I don’t think that’s really relevant
Okay so no one answered my question about what is a temporary pin but I now realize why after I re read the email. So yeah my fault y’all
@pizzapie7515 those are very loose terms, “late march.” I was deferred EA, but had email my regional recruiter an article about me in the Archdiocese paper. She responded with I will add it to your file. Decisions will be out later this month and that night I received the portal email.
@collegetarget they will not do it on St. Patrick’s day.
Good luck everyone, we will finally have a better understanding of the next four years.
does anyone know how they pick kids off the waitlist?
So I got an email from the financial aid office at ND and they were asking for additional forms and all that stuff. Do you think they’d ask for the info if they were going to deny me flat out? Btw I got the email a few days ago.
Good luck to all of you! You are in my prayers! It’s such an exciting and nervous time, but you all have the makings to do great things in this world! I hope your journey starts at ND, but if it doesn’t, you will still bless the world with your deeds and presence!
I agree with nitro11; it is highly unlikely that ND, the “Fighting Irish”, would tell thousands of applicants on St. Patrick’s Day that they have been denied admission. They would ruin that cherished holiday for so many. Thursday is probably too soon - my best guess is decisions on Monday.
^^^ I agree, I wish they wouldn’t wait so long though!
“Hey guys reading through EA CC thread, it looks like people were able to go to confirm.nd.edu before decisions came out and put in the info (ID is found when you log into your Notre Dame portal) and people who could login got in.”
This website is the place where you will eventually accept or decline your spot if you get accepted.
For EA in December, this website got updated about a half hour before the portal went live at 6:42 pm ET. For many (but not all) kids who got accepted, you were able to log in and get to a screen which asked you if you wanted to accept/decline your spot.
If you couldn’t get in to get to that screen, you ended up deferred or rejected. No idea if it will work that way for this go round.
Good luck to all!!
I have no idea. I just know that based on the past they prefer Friday, after the office has closed. That’s my only basis for forming my opinion. My guess is no better than anyone else. Regardless, I’m sure they’ve thought of that in their deliberations. We’ll find out soon if they care about applicant feelings or not!
I couldn’t get into that website, so I hope it doesn’t mean anything yet
@lagirl2017 are you sure you put in the id number correctly?? I got in no problem. Anyone else not able to get in / could get in or has insight on what this could mean if anything?
Ok so I feel better today…I couldn’t really sleep last night with all the excitement. How’s everyone doing today? :D/
