Official November 2010 SAT - Scores!

Actually, wow, it’s all the way in january 22nd? thats ****ed.

Oh well. What is it that the parents say here again?

“Love thy safety”

DoinSchool - I hear you completely, the only problem is that I’ve applied early decision to a school that I absolutely love, by comparison any school means nothing to me ( i know, sounds dramatic)… the January 22nd date is WAY past the time when i’ll even be receiving the results from the ED… and my 29 on the ACT composite isn’t doing me any favors ( i’ve taken that 3 times now) It’s because english is my second language, writing really messed me up, the others weren’t great, but especially writing

2170
800 Critical Reading (I peed a little…)
750 Writing (73 MC 10 E)
…620 Math. (-Crawls in a hole-… it’s always the maths…)

Not bad for a first sitting with literally zero prep, I’d say. Doesn’t look like I’ll be sending it to my ED school as my ACT compares higher, but definitely good enough for NM standards, which is really why I took it to begin with. I’ll be resitting it in Dec. in case my ED doesn’t come through and I need a good SAT for Hahhhhhvaahhhddd.

I’m so unhappy :(

CR: 640 Math: 650 Writing: 660

Well, considering that I prepared for barely 2 months and that I am an International with English as a second language it might be okay… but it’s not enough for my dream schools… 2100 would’ve been okay… but 1950 :frowning: :frowning: :(

omg I’m feeling kinda… I don’t know… :(

Already applied ED to Hamilton,
Superscore:
610r 710m 700w

I think I’m screwed! I bet Hamilton has never seen such low scores!

Yay…i improved by 100 points…I was hoping to get a 2000 this time though.

First try in may: 1800 (560cr 640m 600w 9 essay)
Second and last try in nov 1900 (620cr 680m 600w 8 essay)

Is a 1900 “good enough” to be considered for UMich engineering?

I’m trying to study hard to get high 700s in my subject tests to “make-up” for my SAT…

…I see IMPROVEMENT   :D

October 2010:
590 - Reading
650 - Math
540 - Writing

Total: 1780

November 2010:
650 - Reading
720 - Math
730 - Writing (70/10)

Total: 2100

Not as good as I’d thought it would be but 300+ score improvement? I’m happy.
Definitely will retake though.

November 2010
730 - Reading
730 - Math
770 - Writing
12 - Essay

Total - 2230

So happy. Especially since you CC nerds scared me to death with the answer choices.

wow bald that’s a great improvement to be proud of. what did your prep inbetween tests consist of?

First time taking it
680 CR
780 Math
780 Writing (80/8)

DoinSchool

thank you!
My October test preparation consisted of doing 3 practice tests using the “Sparknotes 10 Practice Tests for the SAT.” (C’mon it’s Sparknotes, its supposed to be good?)

And then I took the test and realized that the questions of the real thing were nothing like my practice, got angry/sad/happy in finding out my mistakes and whatnot, threw the book away, discovered CC, found some help, and went to good ol’ Barnes and Nobles in the next town to check out the some of the much appraised prep guides.

I ended up buying “Cracking the SAT” and “11 Practice Tests for the SAT/PSAT” by Princeton Review. Read both of them with 1 day to spare.

And that’s it!

Being Filipino-American, though, puts me in this apparently dreadful Asian category and I got all scared with all these CC score posts of 2200+, so definitely I’m taking it again to join the lot.

Awesome improvement. I recommend checking out direct hits vol 1 and 2. good luck

I"m taking it again in January, but…
700 CR
800 M
780 W 76/11

I really screwed up reading :/

@Baldredemption,
Being Filipino probably helps you. Filipino used to fall into the older school “affirmative action” categories. Totally play it up!

First Try:
620 CR
680 M
650 Wr (8)

First try:

610 CR
490 Math
680 Writing

1780

Second try:

660 CR
530 Math
710 Writing

1900

I’m pretty upset because my essay score was a lot lower this time than it was the first time around. And I didn’t break a 2000, but at least I managed a 700+ on something, I suppose.

where does it show the essay score? the score page on My SAT (from my organizer) doesnt show the essay score, just the overall score.

i feel so angry… i got a 1860…and my second time taking it.
i want to go to UCSD really badly and sigh…

Critical Reading-- if you are reading this… I HATE U!!!gah!
*hate is too strong of a word… i abhor you

So a 2360 first try as a junior. Is it worth trying for the elusive 2400? Will it really matter in admissions at all?

^ oh yes. you should keep retaking it until you get the elusive 2400. otherwise you will be rejected from everywhere.

1860 ■■■.
