<p>I'm taking the Sat I, I'm a junior so this will be my first time...I'm not that worried about the test but I'm worried that I'll still be sick by then ( I've had the flu since sunday....this sucks and I have a math test tomorrow....I shouldn't even be here...Damn IB has made me lazy lol, that makes no sense....I'm gonna go now...study must..( thats yoda by the way lol).......</p>

<p>3 Times a charm! 1st time (PR Prep...did okay) 2nd time (Self-prep..worked my butt off ... only went up in CR and down 20 points in Math/Writing)...3rd Time UP IN ALL WITH A BANG! I WILL FIGHT ANXIETY AND GET MY 8 HOURS OF SLEEP AND MAKE THE TEST BANAL!</p>
<p>Okay, I have just taken the SAT French Subject Test, as in, I finished it only about a half hour ago, and the experience was such a drama! Everything, absolutely everything, went wrong :(</p>
<p>I was all prepared, had set my alarm - and then in the middle of the night there was a power failure, and so I wake up half an hour before the exam starts. Not only that, I wake up with an eye infection and a fever. Instead of going to the doctor's I race to the test centre, sit down to take the exam. I was taking French with listening, so I had a CD on my desk - of course, I got the dud CD, I could not hear a thing, so I had to wait for a supervisor to come around and ask for another, which took forever, all the while I'm stressing out...the rest of the exam passed just fine, but I was having difficulty concentrating so I doubt I'll get the score I was aiming for...</p>
<p>But no time to sulk, I have school exams starting Monday, and must go study. I can always try again next year.</p>
<p>I hope everybody else did well, and remember, always set a back-up alarm :)</p>
<p>Taking this test as 3rd and last SAT I (WOOT!). I'm satisfied with my october mark in math and writing, and CR too to a certain extent. Just taking tomorrow cause i can't take SAT II's until december, so might as well try for a better CR. nothing to lose but 60 bux.</p>
<p>Well that certainly is a relief!! SAT I out of the way, now the SAT II and 5 other school-related subject exams......</p>

<p>For CR:</p>
<p>Although its common, the best advice I could give is to underline and circle important ideas (trust me, some just stand-out) that you know will probably be asked in a question. Circle mood/tone words, underline the narrator/author's opinions, and facts. If they quote someone, it's probably an essential part of the passage. If there are two passages, you know its going to compare the two, so as you read the second one, keep in the back of your head how it differs/is similar from the first, and what words and ideas make this different/similar. Underline/circle. Predict some questions as you read that they may possibly ask. </p>
<p>You know you're good in CR when you basically know the idea of the passage by reading the first one~two lines. With this skill, doing the above should limit errors. (Tested by yours truly.)</p>
<p>For Math:</p>
<p>Seriously people. Trig. Geometry. Algebra II. Problem solving. YOU KNOW THESE. YOU KNOW. But don't let that get to your head. Before the math section, make yourself humble. You're bound to make a mistake if you don't. In questions that seem way too easy, check if collegeboard is tricking you in any way. You know they LOVE to do that. Pay attention to the DIFFERENCE in the information THEY GIVE to the one THEY ASK FOR. </p>
<p>And those sentence completions...</p>
<p>For those of you who may be scared to death by the possiblities of those words that you often wonder if they even exist: some of the words you just have to know. I can't say much here. Some words are ones you are familiar to by sound, but one you never bothered to look up. But remember that the long hideous ones are not necessarily the answer. Scan for ones you are familiar with, and work with these first. You may find the answer here. Take words apart, prefix/suffix (common advice).</p>
<p>Writing:</p>
<p>Key thing on finding sentece errors. Read the darn thing more than once. Circle ones that sound odd first. If none sound wierd or out of place, look for mistakes in parallelism, tenses, and subject/verb agreements. These are most common.</p>
<p>Essay: PACE YOURSELF. Structure, structure, structure. Do some hardcore planning in the given time. Remember that your brain processes information the minute it sees it, so as you read the prompt, read it a bit slowly, and pre-outline inside your head. Try bringing in outside information, maybe on novels you've read that you can support your opinion. Don't contradict yourself. You may run out of time for a conclusion of any sort, so try to come up with a nice, short, and powerful one. </p>
<p>PLEASE don't walk in to the SATs with the "This is going to be a piece of cake," attitude.</p>
<p>I know that most of this is common knowledge of the SATs. But I wish you all good luck! Go show those collegeboard people what you're made of! :)</p>

<p>it went horribly. essay... well, I've just heard that collegeboard allows colleges to see the actual essay. let's just hope that's not ture. I'm retaking in january (for those few colleges that will accept it), since in december I've got sat II sceduled.</p>

<p>AHHHH! My essay was three paragraphs! I'd written the ending time in my booklet, but apparently I can't add right. I thought the proctors had messed up and only given us 15 minutes, sooo my essay was crap.</p>
