Official NYU 2012 Transfer Thread

I didn’t put a title in. Why do you think it’s so important?

A few posts up someone seemed pretty upset about misspelling his title. I was just thinking if misspelling is bad, excluding must be worse. I’ve looked at a few different posts and it seems a title is not necessary (thank goddesses), so no need to panic.

@undracheevr88 kinda regret putting a title now…just forgot to capitalize the first letter of Hope in the titile…really hope ao overlooks that…

so do they start looking at all the apps now? Have the begun already with the apps that were already submitted a while ago, or is this the first they have looked at them?

Hi everyone,

First time poster here. I was considering about applying for transfer yesterday but decided to put it off another semester in order to improve my GPA and resume. Currently I go to a CSU and have an overall GPA of 3.0. Sophomore. It is my understanding that NYU likes 3.7+ GPA. My academic progress hasn’t been excellent but I have an outstanding resume. Internships in politics and technology companies (the big boys that I would rather not name).

I was wondering what the word on the street is regarding, if I get my GPA up to a 3.5 with letters of recommendation from public officials and managers at tech companies, my chances of getting accepted as a transfer to NYU for Spring 2013?

I would like to finish my undergrad in PLSI at NYU because it is getting increasingly hard to get classes at my State University. In addition, does anyone know the deadline for Spring 2013? I know Fall 2012 was April 1st.

This is all a shot in the dark so any help would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to direct message me. Thank you!

If my application was downloaded on the 28th, how long should it take to get my Albert information?

What’s the difference between netID and Albert?

Never mind. Just to double check, no SAT scores needed for junior transfer right?

@Undracheevr88
thats right, no SAT needed for junior transfer

I am just wondering, does anyone get update on Albert? I mean, the transcript and standard test things as complete?

So far… no. I think I’m going to call them…

@andymachead
I think the deadline is November 1st. You can check on the NYU website.

Also, anyone who’s applying to Stern and is just lurking on the forum, could you please post so we can get an idea of how many Stern applicants there are?

Oh I guess I am also going to call…
Giantmidget I am a stern transfer, but who else? Could any other stern transfer post so that we could know? btw Giantmidget did you get update on Albert?

@meillur

I think it’s way too soon to call. NYU gets so many applications, and most of them will be sending in their documents close to the deadline. Give them at least until April 15 to sort it out, and if it still doesn’t show up, then you can call.

And no, I have not received an update on Albert. My Albert doesn’t even have me registered as a transfer applicant this year. There is no application button to click like I had the last time when I was applying.

Hey! submitted to Stern… I called admissions, and they said if anything was missing they would contact us, but it’s always good to double check

@cuddreams

Are you a freshman or a sophomore? Stats?

Freshman, from highly competitive and well-respected institution
GPA: 3.8 (4.0 midterm)
SAT: 2230 (with 800 math)
ACT: 34
ECs: HS ECs were strong, college debate and music, summer internships with private equity firms

I am also a Stern transfer applicant this year.

Does anyone’s application say “Downloaded” on the commonapp site yet?

My application says downloaded it is the supplement and **** that says only submitted
