Official NYU 2012 Transfer Thread

wow I wish I knew about that sooner lol…But the real question is, if it’s already in, do they take it into much consideration?

@sgplayer69 If what @Houston818 is saying is true, I’m assuming that they wouldn’t hold it against you if you send it in

For stern transfer students:
I am 90% sure that we will get our decisions next week… Here is why: from last year’s thread many people got rejection letters on may 4th or may 5th( which are wednesday and thursday I believe); We have similar pattern this year if you check our slides, on may 3rd many people got rejections( so-called “rejection day”)… Last year most stern transfers heard back between may 9th to may 13th(monday-friday, second week of may), so I assume that the same thing may happen to us this year! Next week stern applicants like u and me will hear back!!! Fingers crossed, hope we get in!!!

Just got an email saying my transcript was missing. At least this shows my application has been checked through. And an admissions rep said stern will be notified “mid-may.”

Hey guys! Anyone got any information/updates for Gallatin transfer applicants?

Some people from gallatin have been accepted already. Like way earlier in the thread

Yeah, I saw them too and now I’m even more nervous. -_-

Has anyone noticed a pattern for Gallatin’s decisions?

@love4finance
Mid-may is the way they tell everybody, same with last year they said mid-may, but stern transfers heard back between may 9th to may 13th( you can check last year’s thread), also as the statement I previously posted today, I think they will give stern decisions next week

@love4finance Today? It’s Sunday…how could you receive email today?

@aachenchen yeah I have no idea. I got it this morning from an admissions rep. Maybe since its crunch time getting more work done on Sunday?

@love4finance but I remembered you said that they told you that your application is complete right? It’s getting so weird…

@love4finance

Did you get an automated e-mail or one directly from an admissions rep?

I think everyone who got e-mails on Friday got automated e-mails

When I called like last week I asked them what to do if my deadline for my other school’s enrollment deposit is approaching, like what should I do and the guy I spoke with said that they’re not sure when all of the decisions will be done but if I hadn’t heard anything by next week (so this week) that I should call them. But one of my friends also called and she was told the mid May thing. So…who knows.

I applied as a junior transfer to Gallatin. If we haven’t heard anything yet, does that mean we most likely will not be accepted?

All my stuff got checked off on Albert about 2 weeks ago. Not sure if I should be excited or worried that I didn’t hear anything last Thursday…

In response to what @ericislife said:

I think that he meant that if NYU asked for some additional things that they need to make your final decision, it means that as an applicant, you made it another step up in the admissions process. Since rejection letters were sent out, it’s a good thing that they are asking for additional materials…it means that you’re still in the running for admission and they still need extra materials to finally make up their minds. It’s like “making the final cut,” basically.

Hey guys, I applied to Tisch Film at the end of April and two things still need to be checked off on my checklist: my portfolio and my college transcripts. I know they got my portfolio because it was submitted electronically and I didn’t get an email saying my file was incomplete. Has anyone been accepted? Rejected? I attended a community college in California. My college gpa is a 3.7 and I feel that my portfolio was pretty good. What do you guys think? I’m flipping out over here! Stats please too!

Did anyone who applied to Steinhardt hear that they were missing anything?

@giantmidget: This was the email. It looks somewhat like a standard email but was directly from an admissions rep. Check it out: "Hello,

I am writing to let you know that in reviewing your application to NYU, we are missing the following item(s):

-**College Transcript

Please note that we certainly understand that you or your school counselor may have previously sent these items, but as of now, these items have not been matched with the rest of your application. It would expedite the review process if you could arrange to have these materials emailed directly to me. You will not be penalized in any way during the review process, as we understand that you most likely sent the materials on time. Please arrange to have the missing item(s) sent to me as soon as possible."

Anyone have the same format as above? I did the ** :)

@AACHENCHEN1: Nope I didn’t say that.

@hsclass2011

I applied to steinhardt and got the email that i was missing both my transcripts but i called and they said they had everything

It says I have yet to submit a transcript from Harvard, which I obviously don’t attend. Albert is definitely the worst tracking system ever.
