SAT: bad!
EC: tons of art-related ec’s (ceramic/photo internships, art exhibitions, etc.), but nothing related to film.

I think the reason why I got wait listed was because although my essays and rec. letters are strong, my test scores and portfolio are not as strong.

I was waiting for the rejection letter, but now they’re putting me on the waiting list… which just makes me even more frustrated, because the chances of me getting any money from them is close to none now, even if I get accepted anyway… How do wait-listers check out their scholarship money? Is it only available after they get accepted?

I guess the wait continues for me… Good luck to everybody else!

Can we apply again for Spring 2013? Has anyone been rejected for transfer and then accepted after re-applying later on?

I’m about to just work full time for the rest of the summer and fall semester.

HAHAHAHA!!! Accepted at UVa, William and Mary, f-ing COLUMBIA, and rejected from NYU. This is pretty comical. I’d already discarded NYU as an option, but I am still quite shocked that they were not impressed enough with my application to accept me, given the superior calibur of the other schools to which I was offered admission. I’m imagining a “Wheel of Fortune” scenario in their admissions office: each applicant has a space on the wheel and, in order to make a decision, they just give 'er a spin and accept whoever’s name just happens to fall on the dial.

Whatevs, I’ll cry myself a river all the way to Morningside Heights.

accepted

recs: one was absolutely stellar. this teacher loved me so much once on a quiz i forgot to answer a question and I told her after she says “it’s ok youre smart and would have seen it and immediatelyknown the answer ill just assume u would have been right.”

got all the prereqs and almost all the recommended prereqs as well.

nothing has changed on my applicant portal however except financial aid info whichshows some tab that is as of yet inaccessible. I actually got an email around 11: 12 am.

overall:

Accept to Stern
3.8 GPA at a top 25 business school
Played 1 year of varsity soccer at a top 10 Division 1 team (deciding to focus on academics/business/actually having a social life instead of spending all my energy and time on soccer)
Founding member of a Microfinance organization
Own a music production/promotion/concert organizing business in Nashville
Wrote good essays

Wow I feel lucky to get it. My stats are pretty similar to alot of you guys who got rejected. I wrote alot in my essays about how I’m more interested in entrepreneurial stuff and start-ups rather than big banking so maybe they liked that.

To everyone who got in I’d like to invite you to grab a beer in NY. I have a couple friends at NYU but it still might be hard to break into the social scene as a transfer…

Accepted to Stern at 11:20 am!

Sophomore transfer from top 5 public school
4.00 GPA- not asked for mid term report
2100 SAT
97 HS GPA
Average rec and lots of finance clubs
Artsy essay specific towards NYU
Transfer credit still hasn’t shown up yet though.

omg just got into stern!! wow, words can not describe how happy i am right now. applied out of high school first time around, was waitlisted til july 1, eventually rejected. then in freshman year i missed out on transferring by 1 credit (supposed to have 30, i only had 29), and then this sophomore year i finally had enough credits for junior transfer.

dam, i didn’t think i had a chance. everyone who got in here has superior stats. i don’t know how the heck i got in with a 3.75, but hopefully this will give people hope. and yes, dreams do come true (i had dreamed about being accepted into nyu at least 5 times now, no lie).

anyone hear from steinhardt i havent heard a thing yet?

Question for anyone else who has been accepted so far… Did your email make it sound like it might not be possible to get housing? Mine said:
“Information about important matters such as housing (if available), orientation, advisement, and registration will be sent to you after you have confirmed your enrollment online.”

Oooooo rejected

Got in at 11:21 AM this morning. So beyond pumped for this. Wouldn’t mind meeting a potential roommate on here, particularly if I don’t get housing and have to get an apartment (NY is so ****ing expensive). I’m a sports management major, not huge on clubbing but definitely wanna party, PM me.

does anyone know how we can respond to our offer of admission. i can’t find the candidate reply form anywhere on albert. does this show up for you guys?

Accepted to Tisch film @ 11:20
GPA: 3.2
SAT: 2110
EC: film classes

At 12:52, I got wait-listed for entry into Tisch’s film program. I’ve a 4.0 GPA, but they’ve likely placed me on lower priority due to my two withdrawals from different schools; I must come off as flaky, but I certainly have valid reasons for having to do so.

Someone reject admission for me, haha!

Waitlisted at Stern. Do people actually get off the waitlist?

3.9 GPA waitlisted at NYU, duke and Barnard , guess im "waitlist " material lol !!!LMK if u guys find out any more info about it ! but i was told some yrs the take ppl off it and other years the dont so u should def put a deposit some place else !
