Official NYU 2013 Transfer Thread

Thanks! I’m SO anxious waiting for mine, it’s pretty much the deciding factor.

@littlepea123

its highly unlikely we will hear tomorrow according to the Drama department, but again who knows! I’m hoping, but based on last year Tisch shouldn’t hear until may 13-17 wahh :(

I’m starting to think this is a Tisch only thread, where are the Stern applicants?

Ima sterny

Michael, I think I was a little confused. I applied to the CAS Dramatic Literature major, which is not part of Tisch.

Hey guys!

I’ve been checking this thread for months and thought it was time I finally joined CC. I’ve become addicted to checking it!

So I’m a freshman at Wake Forest University applying to Stern. I also applied to Columbia (a big reach) and Emory (my best friend goes there and convinced me to apply, I was rejected today). NYU is my top choice though!

My stats aren’t that impressive, which makes me really nervous. I graduated HS with a 3.9, had a 3.3 first semester at Wake (Wake is notoriously tough), and my highest ACT score is a 33.

I’ve called admissions, and my application is complete. Albert hasn’t checked off my college transcript yet, which I sent back in February, but admissions said they received it via phone. I also sent a Midterm report a while back.

I’ve been so anxious waiting for decisions! Mid-May is when we hear back from Stern, right? I was also wondering - are we supposed to send our Spring transcript once it’s available? I took Calc I, an English writing class, and Intermediate Microeconomics this semester just for Stern, so I definitely want them to see my final grades in these classes!

Hello guys!
I have a question on a matter, according to the nyu’s transfer website “Transfer applicants who have already completed at least one year of full-time college or university enrollment in liberal arts and science courses are exempt from having to submit
standardized test results to NYU.” While Albert says, “Applicants can submit a variety of test scores to be eligible for admission… If you choose to submit an alternative form of testing other than the SAT or ACT, it may take some time before such tests are processed.”

Did any of you guys not submit your SAT or ACT?

Hi! I just signed up but I’ve been following the forum. I’m a tisch film and tv transfer applicant. And so answer Rsxx92, no I never submitted SAT or ACT scores. I’m also a sophomore.

I unfortunately sent my ACT because only later I realized I didnt have to haha hope they don’t take that into consideration! But answering your question, no you don’t have to send if you meet the requirements

Yea I don’t and I sent all my stuff in the week of the deadline.

Slor13, bosbr100: wow what a relief haha; thanks for answering guys!

Tanicia1401: I just wanted to make sure!

Bosbr: is it required for MCC???

I applied to Tisch Clive Davis

Hi all. I applied to stern fall 2013 transfer. Do you guys know when decisions come out? If you have a good college gpa and midterm reports but a horrible high school gpa can you still get accepted

No Problem Rsxx92! Although I didnt send a midterm report because I thought that if they didnt ask for it you didn’t need to send it. Can anyone verify that?

Some people have been getting decisions so the best answer is any time between now and May. I think they put more weigh on the high school GPA but then again anything can happen so I don’t know.

I saw on the website that they expect you to send the midterm report.

I’m not sure about the midterm, I heard some people get in without their midterms, but I sent mines in anyways.

reallyrosie, you mean the ACT/SAT? I don’t know, I just know that you don’t have to send if you completed the one year requirement and took those kind of courses described.

It is true people got in without mid-terms. I sent mines in too. If you have good grades, it can’t hurt.
