Official NYU 2013 Transfer Thread

Hopefully tomorrow shall be GALLATIN DAY!

Anyone hear from stern yet?

Haven’t heard back from Stern yet.

They said they accept about 200 transfers to Gallatin. A lot are internal, though, so maybe 50 more acceptances? It’s just a guess. But they’re definitely not done yet!

Gallatin group is now live! Hopefully it works, it’s called 2013 NYU Gallatin Transfers

Nothing from stern yet either … does anyone know when they will release stern decisions??

I’m thinking stern will come out either next week or the week after

can anyone see their academic year in Albert Accept/Decline Financial Aid tab?
I can’t yet, but based off previous threads it looks like if your year shows up (if you applied for financial aid) the following day or two you will be accepted.

i hope it happens to everyone!

if it does will you please post, and post your major/school?

anxiously awaiting!

My year has been there for at least three weeks.

And I haven’t been accepted yet.

I am trying to transfer to stern I go to a top 15 public university and have a 3.8 i had a 3.6 GPA in an NYC specialized high school and got 2180 on the SAT. I haven’t been asked for a midterm report do i have a chance?

I think midterm reports are for borderline candidates. You were probably not asked for one because you are an above average candidate. Either that, or your stats are too atrocious to consider, but I don’t think that’s the case.

has anyone who applied to CAS been asked for a midterm report? I haven’t been asked one And i don’t think I’m an above the average candidate. :(

I’m a CAS applicant and I haven’t been asked for a midterm report, and I’m definitely not an above average candidate either. Does anyone know of anyone who has already been rejected to CAS? I think that’s what is freaking me out the most…

I was just asked today for a midterm report for NYU stern, so does that mean that I am a borderline case?

^ I think so. Being asked for a midterm report means that you are in consideration. If they want to reject you, they will not ask you for additional information.

Hopefully after submitting a strong mid term report I just tilt the odds in my favor. Thanks for your opinion. I guess I can be happy I survived the first round of cuts.

Just for reference, I have a 3.8 and I was asked for a midterm report.

@ Rain 202

Not sure, I thought I had strong stats with a college gpa of 3.9 and high school gpa 3.8+. Feel a lot better when other applicants with strong stats have been asked for a midterm report.

Weird, one would think an applicant with a 3.9 would be above average. Has NYU transfer admissions really gotten that competitive?
But above average or not, being asked for a midterm report is definitely a good sign. You are probably grouped with a bunch of other applicants with a similar GPA and the midterm report is the final determining factor in NYU’s admissions decision. This is just my speculation.
I sent in 6 A’s and 1 B+; I hope the B+ will not hurt me.
