Official NYU 2013 Transfer Thread

Any sternies have transfer credit showing up on myAlbert ?

Can anyone post what the acceptance/rejection email is like?

IN THIS MORNING TO CAS!!! Shocked, though, with only a 3.53. There’s still hope for everyone without the greatest gpa!

I got Rejected From CAS this morning for those of you who want to know my STATS

3.696 GPA 51 Credits at a four year university.
Member of Two Honor Societies
Dean’s List 2x

SAT 1500/2400
High School GPA 80/100

Regardless of my academic achievements. NYU is very competitive and good luck to those who applied.

Do you have any transfer credits showing up on yours?

No changes in my albert profile have been made in I would say 2 months. Everything is checked off.

I don’t have any transfer credit showing up …

@Evry1loveJ and other sternies

I do not have any transfer credit showing up. It is a blank page that says “Transfer Credit not available.” Though in my case may have been true as I only submitted my 1st quarter grades and took all GE classes which probably do not transfer. Feeling optimistic as last friday I submitted my 2nd quarter and current 3rd quarter grades, as admissions wanted me to do so.

I just called for kicks, I already knew the answer. Stern decisions she said are made on a rolling basis and will be made by email over the course of this month. I’m sure we all knew that…at this point we should all leave the admissions office alone lol so that they maybe can hurry up.

Accepted to CAS!
GPA 3.71
SAT 2060
HS 93/100

I would request those people who were accepted but are sure they wont be going, to decline their offers as soon as possible so more spaces open up. You know what waiting feels like and they are so many of us still waiting. Thanks!!

@vinney0605 congratulations!

ACCEPTED!!! :slight_smile:

Stern ???

Ok…here are my observations and speculations

 1. The majority of Steinhardt and Tisch applicants received their decisions
 2. The majority of CAS and Stern applicants did NOT receive their decisions yet
 3. Strongest applicants are accepted first. As they deny NYU for other schools, NYU will send out more acceptances.
 4. Weakest applicants are rejected right away
 5. If your financial aid status appeared (meaning no longer blank), it’s a good sign
 6. If you were asked for a midterm report, you are a borderline applicant

Great summary on what to look for …

@Rain202

I felt in my case they actually needed the midterm report because 1st quarter I had done all GE classes (General Requirements) and no major specific classes. I still believe I am a borderline applicant despite a good high school grades. Also I guess transferring as a freshman they wanted to see more than 1 quarter worth of grades.

Who knows??

oh btw for everyone out there, my GPA was 3.4 LOL

but then again my school practices extreme grade deflation where GPAs tend to hover around 2.7; that plus the fact that my school is in Asia (lol).

Transfer credits never showed up on Albert for me.

I did the full IB (38 points); SATs were 800CR/740M/730W; SAT IIs 730Bio

My HS is extremely prestigious

My ECs are packed and well-themed with a focus

Two of my essays were great, one was just average.

hopefully this gives you an idea of what they want;you dont need a perfect profile just pack your profile with as many redeeming qualities possible.

good luck to all

Any sophomores looking for a roommate?

So how does housing work for transfers? Is it guaranteed?
