[li] Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: Teacher recommendations.[/li][/ul]General Comments: To all those who are stalking this thread in future years: Know how to sell yourself on your application. This is the most important thing. Get to know the college and have in mind what kind of student they want and what kind of student not only fits in, but one that has something to contribute as well. If they already have a Joe Smith, they will not want another Joe Smith.

Man, as long as we're telling stuff to future applicants on here, all I can say is: Go for it, and don't listen to ANYONE but yourself! Only YOU can know what you REALLY want. Forget about a ranking (although obviously NYU ranks pretty well, haha)

I got a 1930 on my SATs and despite ranking multiple times as one of the top athletes in the state and ranking nationally for writing (for anonymity, I don't want to list either the sport or the competitions I was involved with), I was told that I would have difficulty getting into tier 1 schools. Well, as acceptances to multiple schools I love, especially NYU, are coming in (and early acceptances at that), turns out that sometimes counselors, peers, naysayers and the like can be wrong!

Pick one:
** ACCEPTED NYU- RD arts and sciences **

[li] Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: Probably my essays, I spent a lot of time on them and they definitely reflected that.[/li][/ul]General Comments: I'm pretty relieved at this point, I had been into some schools that I didn't have much interest in and it's nice to be in one where I really could see myself going. I agree with fishgills- you should try to present what's unique about you; I really stressed that I had a passion for the French language but that I wanted to try new things in college while furthering that. Also, for those applying next year, please don't stress about this as much as I did. It is not worth it. Oh, and make sure you double- and triple-check that you submitted everything correctly online. A friend of mine did not and had to jump through some major hoops to get his application reviewed.
