When you go to the mailbox and see an piece of NYU correspondence. What is sign that says you are in, or you are out?

My guess is that your class mate got accepted in to LSP.

RSTLNE- How did you find that out?

Rstlne33: I'm also curious how you came upon such information.

And I just noticed, this week is almost over! Woohoo!

Do the students who apply ED and get accepted into the Liberal Studies Program hear before everyone else? If you apply ED and get accepted into LSP, is is still binding?

Well, there was a lot of confusion a few weeks ago about whether or not NYU had received my scores. I ended up sending everything twice just to be sure and I sent a couple of emails inquiring about the status of my application. I'd already gotten a phone confirmation that my application was complete, but I got a return email today saying that everything had arrived and that I should expect my decision around the 16th.

sigh.

omg bimachris, i couldn't agree with you more
sorry but some of these posts are pretty fudging (happy collegeconfidential censors?) ridiculous...

its funny because im never like this. i didnt even know i COULD cry; it surprised me. haha

aww... rstlne. I know this is bad, but just keep saying a week from monday over and over again. (or I guess Tuesday in your case, but I kinda think they are telling you a later date just so you wont call ****ed if they are slow, or the mail is slow).

i'm hoping so. and fyi everyone just call me carina if you want because its so weird answering to a username haha

haha, alright. I noticed that your name on FB was different than your user name here, so I just assumed that you didn't want to give your name here.

Question-If i will apply ED to Stern(undergrad)and ill get in but i have no money to pay for college. Will they give me loans or any financial aid?

NYU gives ED applicants an "estimated award." You have to do like an ED financial aid form and send in a copy of your parents' income tax report. When you get a decision Dec. 15, they will give you an estimated award. Note that NYU does give merit-based scholarships, but not very many of them--mostly financial aid is need-based. You have to submit the FAFSA between Jan. 1 and Feb. 15 to confirm your estimated award given with your ED decision letter. If you find that your financial aid package is unnacceptable and you can prove that your parents can't afford to send you to NYU in any way, then you can get out of early decision--doesn't happen very often, though.

Damn Carina, that sucks. But we're gunna be with you every step of the way :).

Right calimarc? Gotta stay positive yo. haha next week it'll all be over.

Ok so if i dont get any financial AID when applying ED how will i be able go to college?I can pay them 0.So.....what will they do then?

i do believe in staying positive.

future13, many people who apply and are accepted to NYU cannot spare so much as ten dollars for their education; you are not alone. if it is worth it to you, apply for as many scholarships as possible (and i'm sure you'll get a ton of money from FAFSA if you really can't afford to pay) and then take out student loans for the rest of what you can't afford. with an nyu degree you should be making enough money to pay them off!

cal ty so much:)

I already posted to ask this at the NYU message board, but I figured I'd ask here too to see if you guys know.

4th Email - Topic Powered by eve community

Which is the 4th e-mail that we're supposed to receive? is it the one with the ID number saying they've received the application, or is there supposed to be one saying that your application as been reviewed? If so, I have gotten that one.

Btw, I just have to say that everytime someone posts one of those "Chance me" threads, I feel like my chances of getting in are lower and lower everytime. Seriously, I don't think my stats ( at least my SAT and SAT II ) as good as you guys. Though since I'm applying to Tisch I'm hoping my audition will balance out wherever I may not shine in my academics.

I only got an email with my ID number so far

Yeah, I think that might be it. But its just the way that person said "confirming that our application has been reviewed." that confused me.
