OFFICIAL Oberlin Decision - Class of 2014

Waitlisted T____T
I’m in Ohio.
Does anyone know Oberlin’s history with accepting people from the Waitlist?

ACCEPTED!

I’m so relieved. I’ve been flooded with rejects and waitlists for the last two days, so Oberlin really made my day.

xD

S was accepted to Bowdoin and Oberlin today. Both sent financial aid packages. He received a John F. Oberlin scholarship for 25K. His counselor went to Oberlin and suggested it. Not sure what S. is going to do until the rest of the schools notify him. Congratulations to others!

My daughter was accepted today and also at Emory. Received the Stern Mathematics/Science scholarship. We never visited Oberlin, it was a last minute add on to the list. It was suggested to her by a Muhlenberg professor she was working with on her senior graduation project. We’re definitely going to see it now. We’re still awaiting the ivies’ decisions on the 1st. We’re from Pennsylvania.

Washdcmom, that’s fantastic and Congrats! The 25k, it this all merit, and if you don’t mind, could you post your S’s stats? Thanks!

If you guys don’t mind, what size/color are the various envelopes? I’m still waiting for mine here in the Midwest. :(

Waitlisted. Hoping for an acceptance from the con.

Anybody haven’t received your admission decision yet?
I’m an international. but I haven’t received an email yet. upset…

The acceptance envelope is a big envelope. White. Oberlin logo “fearless” written at the top. Pretty standard.

Waitlisted. First yet. :P

The 25K— the letter says it is a merit award-- 25k each year for 100,000 over four years. “as recognition of your strong talents, impressive academic accomplishments and personal promise.”

“The acceptance envelope is a big envelope. White. Oberlin logo “fearless” written at the top. Pretty standard” - Raelah

I may be the only one, but I’m ecstatic they are still using “Fearless.” Love it. :)

@ Plainsman - I love it too! It’s the best motto of any college I applied to. And yes, I know their real motto is “learning and labor” but c’mon…Fearless = AWESOME.
