it's distinct fo sho

But why does he care... about her future at all. Like try to disprove what my belief is... he kept on trying to get her to marry. Tried every trick in the book. Kept persisting. What were other answers other than distinct?
I remember abnormal eccentric rare and one more..

did anyone here not get 700+ on CR on their previous SATs? anyone not a typical CCer?lol

it's distinct.

The question was like...what did the quote "Oh lord, what will become of her?"

this quote would imply that the lady is going to have a bleak future.... also, i remember looking at the other choices, since i do it for every question and like....none of them were as close to fitting as well as this choice was...

why distinct? the definition of peculiar matches the definition of eccentric

doodie - in context, plants and fauna are DISTINCT aspects of each biome/ecosystem... eccentricity is not generally used to describe the PLACEMENT of plants either

it didn't ask wat peculiar as a word means... it asked what it meant in context which was... distinctive i think...
anyways, there was this question like to which two possible answer choices were "each species has its own habitat" and "people make cities based on natural impulses"... wat did u guys get for that?

because they arent abnormal according to the author, and eccentric basicallty means that.

doodie, c'mon dawg.

NEVER, EVER use the intrinsic definition of a word when they ask you which of the following meanings is most similar in meaning to the given word. you have to look at it IN CONTEXT.

the passage is about how forests and cities both have "peculiar" faunas and flora. peculiar, in this case, means "differing" or "wide variety" and therefore only "distinctive" makes sense.

i got a 530 last april on cr, im pretty confident i got low-mid 600s on this one though.

In the marriage one, what was the bleak future thing?

ya what was the profligancy question? i dont remember it?

foolonthehill - put the "natural impulses" answer. anyone else get that?

Yeah, when sympson was asking "what will become of her" it was the bleak future answer.

yeah i put natural impulses.. the paragraph was talking about how we have a natural tendency to do what we do, moreso than another answer in the question which said we have different living environments (D) or something

what were the other choices?

natural impulses

oo i put we have different living environments, alright thanks

does anyone remember if the sentence comp about the woman who went against cherished traditions was in the section with the reading passage about cities being natural?
