*Official* Oct 14. CR Thread

I just got in. I agree with all the Cr fill ins except the iconoclast question. Does anyone remember what the question was because I think the woman wanted political change or something thus egalitarian.

Natural impulses, or
Ants, humans, etc, each build their own specific environments.

was the one with Philip Converse an exp?

I put profile...

no its iconoclast. i'm almost 100% sure. an iconoclast is one who adverdently breaks traditional/sacred values thus it is the correct answer. they almost defined the word in the sentence.

it was Iconoclast --- because she did not want to conform to the norm
and i put natural impulses

Another passage were missing is the one with the comet in the sky. The question asked what stylistic technique is the author employing and it was either appeal to emotions or flashback. I put appeal to emotions

he was using metaphorical techniques!

danish, if you look a few pages back, you'll realize that the answer is in fact metaphorical language.

I thought for the uncle-sister one was the asking god thing, since he was asking god the question....lol. bleak future it may be..but i'm sticking with my answer since i don't remeber the specific question, lol.

it was metaphor, there was no emotioanl appeal, and it was in the present tense, so no flashback.

liberty- thats fine if you think the answer is iconoclast and could be totally right but do you remember the actual sentence better because an egalitarian would also want change because they want equality...

For those with 4 CR sections and none about nixon or chinese people, what were your four sections about.

he used exactly 3 metaphors and 1 simile in the passage (some of the metaphors were more like personifications, but yeah w/e), if i remember correclty, so yeah...

the answer is iconoclast. no question.

umm it was something about disliking institutions

i agree with avant-garde.. they basically defined the definition of iconoclast in the question. dont remember the question exactly, somethign about professor williams..

is it great to be human because of appreciation of the beauty of nature or find joy in simplicity?

Does anyone remember which section the SC about brothers and photography business and abolition was on?

alright thats cool I just thought the question had some social/political context with institutions or something but no worries. gl all to all of you
