<p>Whoa, no need to get bitter Dionysus. The SAT is no longer an "aptitude" test; this has been the case since 1997. The new one especially is more knowledge-based, and indicates a test-taker's academic level and skill, which can be improved. If colleges really wanted to measure aptitude, they'd request IQ scores as well, but what they really want to see is how well you would do academically at their school, which is different from raw intelligence by itself. Besides, no test, whether it measures potential or knowledge, is completely valid. BTW, congrats to those who made such a huge improvement!</p>

I got 12 in the essay and did farily good on the mp and got 740....!!</p>
<p>I got 80 on the MC, that helped I guess. But I was pretty surprised too.</p>

am now a senior, from october sitting: 800/750/800</p>
<p>done with college board, now. I wasn't worried about these october tests because I was fine with my old SAT 1s. Did all 3 sat2s in one sitting last year, so, woo. consolidation.</p>

I found the exam not so difficult. but my friends who had taken sat earlier said that Sat was really difficult...so, was expecting around 2000. really surprised to see 2300. does collegeboard make mistakes??? i just hope that 2300 was not a mistake.</p>

<p>Oh my god... I got an 1860 my first time around in January with 560 reading, 620 math, and 680 writing.</p>
<p>Now I studied for about a week and a half and I got a 2170 with 660 reading, 710 math, 800 writing. </p>
