Early December

what about the critical reading section? does anybody remember anything from that? did you all think it was really hard?

i remember that the one about Spanish was that it was his guardian or something

Vaguy89, check this thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=250255

wat about the question in the Spanish story about why he was unfair to both spanish and english? wat was the asnwer

perpindicular is always the negative opposite slope.... so if one line is 3/4 a line perp. to it must be -4/3

bball16, it was that he emphasized one historical event too much. (I think)

yes deafening is right.....

wait so the answer to the one about the slope of the perpendicular line is -1/2?

The Engish Section was hard. I didnt' get many right. The Math OMG. I got 3 answers wrong. I didn't answer the question. But later after the math test was over I got like all three answers. But I didn't grid them in.

Can someone tell me how to scale my score? I think I got 7 or 8 wrong:

3 Grid-ins wrong (for the microscopes one, idk what i did but i got 19. for the triangle one, i made a retarded mistake that i dont even want to talk about. for the one about 3 odd numbers that the answer was 125, i read the question wrong and did something even more retarded. ugh.)

4 or 5 MC questions wrong (For the one with 4t, i plugged in numbers and got like E, it was like 2t + 6 or something.
for the e<d<f<c or whatever, i think i said b, it was the one with d first.
for the area of the quadrilateral thing on the coordinate plan, i definitely didnt know how to do it and said 4.
i think i said like 2400 for the tunnel one? something with a four in it)

Yep so can anyone tell me my score or how to compute it?

for one of the writing section ones, it was something about how only little advances have been made TOWARD civil rights?

was that E? No error?

the toward thing confused me

Yes, it was no error, because "toward" is the correct word

I'm pretty sure I made in the 220s. Just one question I wasn't sure about, and that was the equilateral triangle thing. I guessed 4, althought that might not have been that smart.

Everybody, go to the psat discussion in the SAT Discussion chat

also, join this AIM chat: "octpsat"

its "towards" civil rights
well thats what I put
did ya'll get the thing about the phoenix or whatever. All i know was that passage was incredibly confusing and I put 4 d's in a row (one or more must be wrong) after spending like 3 minutes on each questions.
I got 3 fill in the blanks wrong and 2-3 multipile choices wrong on the math
I thought the grammar section was insanely easy, except for the last few questions.

Oh, and I'm Hispanic, and there's some kind of program called the National Hispanic Scholar program... there wasn't a buble to fill it in (there was a bubble for Black Achievement or something) Does the fact that I put hispanic on my demographics make me eligible for this?

well you bubbled in that you're hispanic so that should work

how do you go to the SAT discussion chat?

Man Im really nervous about the critical reading. I took like two critical reading practice sections last night and only missed like 3 out of 26 and answered all the questions; today I left one blank in both sections and hurriedly answered the last few problems. I think I probably missed like 5-7, but oh well, I think I only missed one on the math and possibly none on the writing. The writing seemed really easy; there were only two problems I wasnt 100% sure about. One was the one that said "no lesser of a something than," and I changed it to no less an, which im pretty sure is right. The other one I got confused on was the one that said the whole city was VISUAL from the tower. I went over it again and again in my head and finally marked that one because I thought it should be visible.

good luck to everybody
