Official October 2011 SAT

I found it easier than the previous ones I took. The essay prompt was easy too.

What did you think about it?

yea, it was easier than the practice tests I took, but still did poorly since I sucked at my actual practice tests. Essay prompt was easy, but I used horrendous examples and ran out of time.

What was the essay prompts?

how much is a 10 essay -1 writing and -7 reading?

math wasn’t that hard, but I thought that the critical reading/vocab was very difficult (and that’s the section that I normally do very well on, while math is usually my weakest section, so I’m not sure what happened there). I honestly have absolutely no idea how I did…it’s three weeks until we get scores, right?

felt that vocab was hard.
math i got one wrong the one with the 2 circles
essay prompt - does discipline achieve freedom

I took the SAT previously with no preparations and this time took a week-long “boot camp” to up my math score… ended up feeling even less confident after the math sections than I did the first time. I feel like I missed around 40% of the questions, had to leave quite a few blank (some not even only on the last page). Kids I talked to during break felt the same way about math. I’m still shaking from being so disappointed in myself!

Definitely agree about the easy essay though. I wonder how many allusions to Brave New World the essay scorers will be able to read through before they start pulling their hair out…?

Don’t want to jinx anything, but it was quite a bit easier than expected! Writing was a breeze, a few of the CR questions were tricky but passages overall were not too bad, and math was definitely manageable, but might have made a few silly mistakes  Muchhhh easier than the tests at Elite (the SAT prep course I took).

Also @ j0hn3ny or anyone else who knows, was the answer to the one with the 2 circles 96pi? Or did I do that completely wrong…

Woah and my essay prompt was “Do mistakes lead to progress?”…were there several different essay prompts given out?

and @ rainbowtime a 10 essay and -1 writing is probably 780 to possibly an 800 (if you get reallyyyy lucky and they decide to curve it super nicely haha) and -7 CR is probably a 690-700.
