**Official October 27 ACT English Discussion**

I thought its bad... Especially for first articles

How did everyone feel on this? I thought it wasn’t too bad.

I thought it was definitely the easiest section.

Compared to my previous two tests, I thought the English went fairly well.

Yeah, I thought I did well! I actually had 9 minutes to spare; I have no clue how though.

What did you guys put for number 20? It was a question about Little Richard, something along the lines of:
…songs; such as “Good Golly Miss Molly” and “Long Tall Sally”.

I couldn’t decide between…
B) songs, such as:
AND
D) songs such as

I put D for that one.

Ya I couldn’t decide on that one, to me is didn’t seem right to have “such as” after a colon, so I went with D. Could be wrong though.

same but i went with B

There was another such as question later. About types of flowers. I got ti down to 2 choices:

c) flowers such as
d) flowers, such as

Which was correct?

I put D, I think. XD Unless I changed it afterwards, but I don’t think I did.

Compared to the September ACT, this one was a tad harder.

answer was d)flowers, such as

i debated this one for a couple minutes actually but when you read the rest of the sentence with choice (c), it does not sound right…

ok good. I just looked up “such as” and if it provides examples, you put the comma. So the last one about flowers should have had the comma. If what comes after the “such as” defiens or limits it, then there is no comma. So the first “such as” followed by the songs would not have the comma. Right???

“When it was invented in 1921…” question…
what did you guys put for that??

@novelidea Right!

What was the entire sentence for the “such as” one?

there was another one where the passage was like elvis had already gained something so that person something something->devised, conspired, no change and something else…

And there was a question about the paintings the person did
choices were–> more naturally, naturally, nature’s and no change

@karatekid. The answer was to help evolve the following sentence that said ‘during that time’ or something like that

YES!!! i put that one…

I chose devised and naturally.
