Well, anyone taking the October Exam? Will be my second :p

Will be my 4th, if I get a 33 on this one no way in hell I’ll take it again. Also do we need to sign up tonight or can we still sign up tommorow.

Nope, took September and most likely will take it again in December.

I thought you could sign up till the 17th. So, you can sign up tomorrow.

Wassup!! :D

^hey sexy. How ya doing? Good times from september ACT. I wonder how everybody will do. I will be taking October ACT; I doubt i got the 34 ACT i need

Does anyone know if the scores from the October ACT will make it to colleges in time for a November 1 early decision deadline? Is there a better chance it might make it if you sign up to send the scores to a school before you actually see your scores? Or does the timing make no difference if you wait to see if they are worth sending?

You gotta be crazy if you’re a senior taking the ACT again in October and/or December.

^why is that?

I understand it might be a bit late for Nov.1st deadline, but for December/January 1st deadlines, it should be okay. No?

^ Why is that you ask? Get on with your life. Stop taking ACT tests. There is a point when you have to accept your score rather than fight it. If you really wanted to retake it over 9000 times, you shouldn’t have waited this long to do it. I’m just saying, senior year is not meant to be a repeat of 2nd semester junior year.

No offense btw.

Only 2nd time taking it in October…

Umm…Senior year is your best and last chance to get the highest score possible. If you had only one chance to strengthen your application, wouldn’t you take it? By that year, everyone has reached their full potential in terms of brain development. The more the brain develops, the smarter you become–hence, the higher your score. This is on the assumption (arguably a flawed one but nonetheless accurate to an extent) that ACT correlates to intelligence.

By spring semester of senior, everyone will have forgotten the ACT anyways. So you might as well take the opportunity to higher your score when you have the chance. No?

Yeah…because I must have missed those calculus questions on the ACT…■■■■■ what a joke. In reality, the ACT only tests up to grade 10/11 at most.

dam those lagrange error problems :p

Someone asked if scores for the October tests will be ready in time for the November 1st Early Decision deadline.
Can anyone answer this? I’m wondering the same thing.
thanks

OK, I’m wondering about this question as well. I’m not sure, but this is what I think:

The scores from October will not be available for the official Nov 1 ED deadline.

Most schools will look at scores that are sent in later than the deadline, but there is no guarantee.

Since decisions on ED are often Dec 1, there is a chance some schools will look at the Oct ACT if it is sent in, even though it is after the official application deadline.

Again, I’m speculating, so if anyone knows for sure, please post!

I’ve done some research, and apparently most schools tell you to just send the October scores in as soon as you get them.
I sent an email to the school I’m going to early at, and I’ll post here when they reply

But yeah, confirmation by anyone else would be great

If you’ve taken the ACT before and you want to be considered for early admissions, you have to send that score. Once you take the October ACT, check the school(s) your applying early to and they’ll update your ACT information as soon as they get it.

If you haven’t taken the ACT before then there’s no way to tell whether you will be considered early or not.
