Official October ACT Reading Thread

^^ scientific experiment-the exact answer read "raise the nation’s morale and (something relating to money)

so what’s the consensus to the photography question?

photography question is photography is an illusioned form of reality …i got that also. it says it last sentence first paragraph

also…the answer was “enduring” i’m actually not sure if this was for reading or english but i remember…it was like used in order to emphasize the length of somethign?

All,
Besides the science passage, what were the easiest passages? I think the first two were pretty straightforward.

and did anyone remember getting like 4 A’s or F’s in a row?

but it said “Few buildings, at least before photography, were observed with more passionate care.”

mabsjenbu, yeah i did.

I got like 4 E’s at one point. I think it was the reading.

what can be inferred about the mainland palm trees isntead of the island ones

wasn’t it that the island fruits can be used as a valuble source of food?? i was so sure that was right

i thought it helped their survival or whatever that option was…but i suck at the reading section

On the WPA Harlem one, what did you say the author’s tone was? I think i said ironic but i am regretting not putting admiration now that i think about it…

the tone was admirable…or something positive like that. but what about the mainland vs. isalnd palm trees. was the difference that the island palm trees provides food?

admiration. i was almost sure about that one.

What about the one that asks which one wasn’t mentioned in the prose fiction section?

I put “where she slept”

I thought it was “mainland were in less danger” or something like that, pretty sure we agreed on it earlier

@claira

it was size of house

it said she slept on a cot - u had to read SUPER carefully

Thanks mabsjen. Arg, oh well.

Yeah, I put “mainland were in less danger” too, because there’s more diversity. Therefore, we can conclude that mainland palm trees developed defense mechanisms.

I put the “mainland” response because all of the predators of the island palms where invader species, the mainland always has these animals and isn’t isolated so the palms have defense, essentially the same logic as the above poster

mabsjen, was it the 3rd passage where u got 4 straight a/f? i tihnk like 22-26 or something
