Official October ACT Science Thread

^ I went back and read the whole passage…he was collecting males one by one, recording their sound, marking them, and then letting them go. So obviously he was marking them so he wouldn’t record the same one- because if he had recorded the same one multiple times, that would have shifted the results to that particular frog’s sound

@rawk: I just remember one of the answers was 22%…and I believe you had to look at the chart to figure that one out. I didn’t think there was another percentage question, so I just said that the answer to what you were asking about was 22%. Correct me if I’m wrong.

lol sry i meant the .9 answe
and i agree with your answer

here it is guyss lol:

A (less than 1.
potential energy is increasing because string i
9.1 not 2.5
metamophosis
pick up the same frogs and then ultimately skew the data
changed the shape with caused the release of CH4
A= rider 1 rider B= rider 2.
I
3,4,5 didn not start at point D
attract because they have opposite charges
green was mix of blue and yellow
100 liters of methane
uniform theory does not match student 3
The frogs were just females unfertilized eggs.
22% at 140 hz?
.9m
light
8-11 degrees
8%

10x for poplar tree
increases then decreases
acetic acid answer A
the guy didnt move because slope = zero
the rocks stuff student 2 was the one that wasnt underground
scientist hypo right
BrCH2CH3COOH
intensity got lower from 12 to 2
ncreasing it should reduce concentration

the science was easy im expecting a 38

^ Thanks for compiling a list, but I don’t understand "A (less than 1. " or “9.1 not 2.5.” I also don’t remember the questions for “changed the shape with caused the release of CH4” or “acetic acid answer A”- if anyone can remember those please refresh my memory

lol once again i make these lists for myself just to clarify things i might forget.
one problem said less than 1 and the answer choice was A. 9.1 was the answer and i put 2.5

Sorry, does anyone remember the other answer choices for the “he didn’t move because slope = 0” one?

Do you remember passages for those questions…the only thing I remember was like “less than 144”

"intensity got lower from 12 to 2
ncreasing it should reduce concentration "

what were the questions for those??

@Joe: one answer choice said that he did move but his speed didn’t change or something like that.

@ mabs: the 12 to 2 thing was a chart that you just had to look at, and I think the other one was about the blue, yellow, and green light, but I don’t actually remember that question

@mabs: The increasing one was about the colors (specifically blue I believe), and it was that increasing it should reduce concetration, since darker colors absorb more light.

didnt say that they were directly related in the passage, so shouldnt one increase when the other increases

@Mare: were you supposed to get that answer off of reasoning or by looking at a graph? I don’t remember it…but I won’t worry as much about it if I know that you were supposed to interpret a graph or something lol…my logic wasn’t great that day

@Vince: I’m pretty sure you could infer it from the graph, as long as your held the previous assumption that darker colors absorb more light. But if you looked at the graph, you could see that the 4.something stayed the same while the 6.something decreased in light intensity.

lol I still don’t remember what I put for that

Hopefully I got it right :)

^ lol, nor do I…I always become paranoid when I can’t remember a specific answer…

I thought it was super easy (i got killed on english though)

Out of the ones I remember I put,

-.9 for distance

0 slope for not moving

lowest pH there for the fluorine one

can’t really remember others

^ what was the question for the .9 thing?

azzajack, did you get 100 (choice A/F) for the 10 billion liters in the atmosphere?
