Official October SAT II Thread

Hey. These are for all of you taking an October SAT II. In a sense, this is a support group, just kidding!, lol. List which SAT II you are taking, your reason for taking it (ex. taking it so you can beat the EA deadline, the RD deadline, because you had earned a low grade in June, etc.), and a grade prediction!

Good luck to all!

Math Level 2-
Reason: I am very good at Math and I find the curve on this test very attractive. Most of the colleges I am looking at require a math and science SAT II. I already took physics. This is the SAT II I am going to focus most of my time on.
Score Prediction: I borrowed the new kaplan book from the library and took the two practice tests without prepping whatsoever. I scored an 800 and 760. I would be very disappointed if I scored below a 750 on the actual exam. Hoping for an 800.

US History-
Reason: After a year of history I thought about taking this test along with physics in June . After thinking about it I decided to focus my efforts exclusively on physics. I doubted my decision until I received my score for physics, (800) then I was very pleased with my decision.
Score Prediction: Should be between 740-780. I would be disappointed with anything less than a 730.

I'm retaking my 700 on biology, but I think I may, but probably not--take world history.

I will be taking all of these in October in order to meet an deadline. I plan to take:
Literature: I love reading and I did awesome on the CR of the SAT I. This was my only obvious choice.
Math (not sure which level yet): I figured that I ought to take a math SAT II because it seems like it is encouraged everywhere. However, I suck at math and will have to teach myself about half of the IC or almost all of the IIC. I plan to take the IIC if at all humanly possible, because I know the IC curve would completely slaughter my score.
Biology: I guess I just suck less at biology than at the other subjects offered. All joking aside, it is the only subject that I studied with a decent teacher, (even though that was freshman year) so I think I have the best chance of self-studying for a decent score.

Biology: I will probably choose E over M. I'm a little worried about this. any comments?
Math IIC: not too worried, been self-studying for a while.
Lit: I might retake lit (I have a 730 now) and work for an 800...what do you think?

Buuuuuummp It Up

can you take e AND m of bio on the same day?

I'm not sure whether I'll be taking the SAT I's or SAT II's in Oct. (because they all sucked lol.. :() However, if I do decide to take the SAT II's, here are the ones I'll be taking:

Math 2-
Reason: Because I took it the first time, and I did poorly (even more shameful because I am Asian! lol... I hope that does not offend anyone)

Prediction: I have no started studying yet, because I am still practicing some SAT I material, but anything about a 630 would be wonderful lol.. :T

Physics-
Reason: (Same as above)

Prediction: (Same as above, except, anything above a 660 would be great)

b**-
Reason: My chances of getting an 800 on an SAT II test after studying is about the same as filling in "C" for all the questions and hoping that they are all C.

Prediction: Anything above a 200 would be respectable in my book lol..

mkevb1:

No, because there are only about 20 E or M specific questions, after the 60 or so core Bio questions.

i have a 720 in lit, do you think i should retake it? :/

koushirou:

It depends on which schools you are looking to apply to!

Bump In Up

takin bio .
