I found the first math section easy but then I started to lose my pace. What did you guys put in the one that was about 2^(x+1) and k or something? For the cube one, I was behind and couldn’t even think but thankfully it was a grid-in response(I think?). Well, I put the wrong answer but that one was pretty simple. I always end up making silly mistakes in Math…

Its 1600 right? I checked the answer multiple times

Seems to be some debate on the Jackson high school question, it’s either 1420 or 1600.

Yup, I got 1600.

For the reflection one, the original point was (3,1) right? It said the point was reflected about line y=x and then reflected about the y-axis… so I got (3,-1)? Unless I’m doing something totally wrong here…

Sorry. I meant 1600.

I think that the reflection one was (-1,3). I believe that it said that point P (or whatever letter) is a reflection of the point (3,1) across the line y=x. This means that P is (1,3). Then it said that the point that they want is a reflection across the y-axis, which is (-1,3). Correct?

Oh right, I was thinking about y=-x not y=x. Ugh, math curve better be good…

@E89z4m You’re right. I had three math sections, and I had the one with reflections.

Okay … the answer is 1600 not 1420, i had 1420 sadly but went over it with all my foreign exchange student friends from korea and china and they agree that its 1600. the answer for the cube is 54 not 51, and for the reflection one its just the opposite because it reflects in the y-axis. and the slope of the parabola is 5 almost certain…

Yeah, pretty sure it’s 1600.

Total number of absences (from the bar chart) is 90.
The number of students who missed one day of school is 90 - 8 - 1 = 71.
The number of students who missed AT LEAST one day of school (the number of students the graph represents) is 71 + 8 + 1 = 80.
80 is 5% of 1600.

Cube is 54 because the surface area for the original cube was 54 (6 sides of 9 square units), and if you take away a corner piece then you still keep the same surface area, but the “face” that was removed is just further inside the cube, if that makes any sense.

Reflection: (3,1) reflected over y=x means flip the x and y coordinates (same as inverse functions) so it becomes (1,3). Flipping over the y-axis makes it (-1,3) because the y-coordinate stays the same but the x-coordinate changes sign.

Parabola I think was 5, yes. The problem said that the distance between the two zeros was 10, meaning that the equation was -x^2 + 25. This means one endpoint of that segment was the left zero, (-5, 0), and the other endpoint was the y-intercept, (0, 25). The slope between (-5, 0) and (0, 25) is 5.

Does anyone remember if the one with the parabola was multiple choice, and if so, what were the choices?

Thanks!

Did anyone get 3k^2 for the 3^x=k problem? Also 128 for the root grid in? and 998 for the sequence of adding five each time to 3?

parabola one was 5…since length was 10(given) and the height was 25. So 25/5 is 5.

choices were 2, 5 , 5/2, and idk rest

@sm5435
Yes, yes, and yes.

Well, looks like I got a 790 then, since I had 1280 for the school. And I thought I did it ingeniously too.

For the question with the tangent line and the circle with one of the angles being 50 deg and you had to solve for y, was the answer 65degrees? I assumed that the other two angles in the triangle (besides the definite 130 degrees) were equal and then did 90 - 25 = 65

And the one with the triangle with two sides (5, 12) and the third one being an integer, did you guys get 33 for the maximum perimeter?

Does anyone remember what the last question was of any of the 25 minute math sections? I know I got it wrong for one of them but I dont know what it is.

Was there a trail marker and rest station at the beginning of the trail? I think i got 2:1

I swear that I read that there was a rest stop AND a trail marker at the beginning of the trail. I got 2:1

Trail marker was 2:1

Tangent line and circle was 65 degrees (baylahh, those angles in the triangle were equal because two sides were radii)

33 for maximum perimeter

What would -1 in this section be (speculatively)?

-Median - mean = 0

-33 is max perimeter

-Ugh i got 1620 for the school popuplation one. Didn’t the question say 8 students were tardy ‘AT LEAST’ 2 times, one guy was absent 3 times, and nobody more than 3? So then the guy absent 3 times is also part of the set of people who were at least 2 times. Then it would be 90 - 8 (for the people absent at least 1 day) - 1 (to account for the guy who was absent 3 times, his first tardy was already counted) = 81? This would make the school population 1620

It is 2:1 … Whatever number u got (7.666 and 3.2231 or something) u round that down, and add 1 to each of them because the very beginning counts. so its 7+1 : 3+1 = 8 : 4 = 2 : 1
