<p>Subjective:
Extracurriculars: Band (2 years), Choir (3 years), Dance (16 years, 12 hours a week), Pre-professional dance company
Job/Work Experience: My mom is self-employed so I’ve helped her out in the retail and online business and I worked at Tastee-Freez, which is kind of like Dairy Queen
Volunteer/Community service: NHS-related stuff, dance volunteering, working with Girl Scouts
Summer Activities: Dance, college visits, dance…lol.
Essays: I think mine were pretty creative…haha.
Teacher Recommendation: Well, my English teacher loved me. I did well in his class and was one of very few people to ever score a 5 on the AP exam from my school, so…I expect it was pretty good. Plus I made him brownies. =P
Counselor Rec: I know for sure that my counselor’s recommendation was FANTASTIC. I didn’t read it, but I have no doubts. She loves me like one of her own children.
Interview: I didn’t have one.</p>

Hooks: I’m from a very low-income family, I’ve been through divorce and custody battles and even being homeless (more than once), but I’ve still maintained my great grades and all of my extra-curriculars.
Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Accepted: NYU, Union, College of Wooster, Wittenberg (AKA all backups), Waitlisted: Brown, Pitzer, Princeton, Stanford, Vassar, Rejected: Columbia</p>

<p>Oh, and I also attended the Creative Writers’ Workshop at Duke the summer after my sophomore year.</p>
