Houston here, still haven’t gotten anything in the mail.

Ok, I’m slightly confused. I have been reading everyone’s posts and I went to this admitted students website and logged on…and it said “You’re In!”

However, I haven’t heard anything whatsoever from Vassar yet. Am I actually in??

D got waitlisted today. We’re in Southern California.

@ margie…i check online by signing into the VassarCongrats2014 thing…but I got my official letter today!!!

Hey…how come people from SoCal already got letters? I’m from Washington and still haven’t gotten anything. I hate waiting. I just want to know now so I can move on with my life.

I’m with ross25: I’m in Ohio and I don’t have a letter yet.

Though I, too, am getting rather anxious, I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Saturday mail is really iffy in a lot of places; I’m in Connecticut and still haven’t received anything.

Since I can’t log in to that Congrats 2014 page, I’m pretty sure that I got rejected but there is still hope for being waitlisted! @Swat2014: That is pretty heartening that a state so close still hasn’t gotten the mail. I’m hoping it will come tomorrow then.

Hi!

I was accepted ED1 and didn’t get a candidate reply card or an ID/Pin number. It was just a letter. Does anyone know why some people are getting them and some aren’t. Because the paranoia in me is coming up with a lot of bad possibilities lol. Thanks!

Hello, Pooter. I’m assuming that you didn’t get a reply card because you were an ED applicant, meaning that you don’t need to make a decision – your application was binding. If they did send you a reply card it could only have had the “yes” option on it!

As far as not getting an ID/Pin number, I’m fairly certain that they are the same as the ones you used to track your application when you applied. Try using those on the congrats2014 website.

yeah that’s what i thought about the reply card but like a bunch of people who also did ED got them so I got nervous lol. I eventually emailed them and my regional admissions person sent me one. and thanks for the ID info, im gonna see if i can find that. Thanks!

ACCEPTED.

This is proof to all of those who believe tests and grades are “everything.”

I got a mere 1900 on my SATs, and two 580s and a 720 on my SATII’s.

My application essays shone through. My extracurriculars too.

Invasiondays, I seriously doubt it’s your activities or essays. Activities or essays may help your application, but it won’t bring back the dead. No offense, but the reason why I think you got in was because you’re gay. Grades and test scores don’t count as much for you as they do for straight, Caucasian or Asian students.
It’s called affirmative action.

Suppose you have 8 different students with same stats and activities. All wrote extraordinary essays.
Each of the students is a member of 1 of the 4 races.
Each of the students is either gay or straight.
Each student can not have the same combination as the other student.
In theory, the ‘favorability’ chain goes like this:

Gay blacks > straight blacks > gay Hispanics > straight Hispanics > gay Caucasian > gay Asian > Straight Caucasian > straight Asian

The ones at the top are the most favorable. It goes downwards from there.

Honestly, I’m not accusing you of being ‘under-qualified’. My personal essay made me look like a gay Asian when I’m actually straight. I think that’s why I got picked. I hear Vassar likes gay people. I think that’s why I also got into Wesleyan, which also favors gay people.

thats an interesting theory. I’ve actually heard that they want to attract as many straight men as possible so they can get rid of the stereotype that Vassar is full of women and gay men.

“Liberals believe white, straight males should be punished.”

Um, what?

yeah i kinda disagree with that…im a HUGE conservative and not even i think that about liberals lol

Wait, so how old are you?

Yup, I’m a liberal and don’t really fancy any punishment of white, straight males.

While this is some of the most entertaining stuff I’ve read on this board in a while, it’s also some of the most confusing. Tell me you’re kidding (or ■■■■■■■■), DidIMakeAMistake.

rejectedd =[
