latitude 1126 is ed binding?
@kelashela21 Yes, it’s binding.
Have you applied ED anywhere?
can i still apply ed to harvard? the deadline was nov 1
@kelashela21 Harvard is REA, and i don’t think you can apply now.
what about oxford? can i apply ed there?
@kelashela21 No, not really. You have to apply to Oxford through Oxbridge, and its deadline(15 Oct) has passed.
Does anyone know about people getting into Ivys or universities in general via EA/ED?
@kelashela21 has gotten into Cornell ED.
Nice. Someone I know has also gotten into Cornell. Any news on Columbia? I’ve heard that no one from Pakistan has gotten via ED
Hey guys, I wanna apply to a couple of schools before the rd deadlines. It seems odd but I completely lost hope after my sats. @latitude1126 @socksnthings
(11th grade) at a US high school , 3.8 gpa, an AP class with a 4. Robotics pretty decent extracurricular, interned for Microsoft.
sat 1360
math 2 650
physics 670
Any tips for which colleges should I target in US and Canada.
Much Appreciated.
@gnubeta Hey! Sorry for the late response. I think your SAT is fine. I got a 1370 in my SAT, 720 (Don’t even rememebr anymore) in Math 2 and Physics and I’ve applied to a bunch of good places- even got accepted/ deferred into a few. Search schools according to your SAT scores.
Guys, do you know how we could include our O level/ AS Results in CommonApp
Btw, do you think that a 1520 SAT score is high enough for Harvard/Yale/Princeton. I think that my 730 in English brings me down…
@kingogkings You can include it in the additional information section if there isn’t any option in the test scores area. With regards to the SAT Scores, the 25%-75% scores are published by all colleges so you can get an idea from that, but note that scores are only a small component of the whole picture, there is no ‘cut-off’ mark.
Thanks! Btw, can I get a fee waiver in order to send my SAT 1 and 2 scores to colleges if I didn’t use them to register for the SATs? I have too many colleges and sending scores to all of them would be pretty expensive.
@gnubeta Dude, I suggest going on collegeboard’s big future and targeting the colleges with acceptance rates between 20 and 40% SAT optional colleges are a good option too.
@kingofkings30 Hey! So your counselor is supposed to send that stuff as part of your transcript. As far the SAT thing is concerned, I think 1520 is good in terms of considering those schools but the rest of your application must be top notch.
@AltoDuke Hi, if you don’t mind me asking, did you get any financial aid from Duke (I am applying there too)? I am so poor that I would have some difficulty attending LUMS, so I needed a big financial package to get anywhere.
@kingofkings30 Yeah I’m on full financial and so are all the other JTites Duke tends to be generous to Pakistanis.
