Official Penn Transfer Thread Fall 2008

sorry about that

just out of curiosity, what does the ㅋㅋㅋㅋ characters mean?

its like lol in english.
pronounced
kkkkkk

Why haven’t a lot of us received PINs and logins?

How will we know about our decisions?

Has Penn even started issuing the PINs and logins?

^yes, but MANY people haven’t received them. i think everyone is too emotionally invested to realize they have nothing to worry about, at least not yet

I wonder why I got one so early. Did everyone use the common app except me?

I used the Penn App…I got my pin months ago…

Maybe that’s what’s up, then.

bump. the thread is dead. eye of the storm?

more like no one really cares about this right now since we all know that there is close to 17-18 days left before the first batch of decisions go out and that’s a long time.

i still haven’t received a pin or login code.

thinking maybe it’d been lost in the mail i went to the online decisions page, and clicked on the whole “lost my pin/password” button, hoping that i could have it emailed to me.

the webpage came back and said they had no account in the system with that email.

anyone else still not have a pin/not in the system?

Me. don’t worry about it though, they prob have not mailed them yet. Call the school if you are really worried.

don’t have mine either…not too worried tho. might call 'em today if i get a chance. i think it’s a perfectly legit reason to call. just give 'em a ring if you’re worried.

I emailed them, they were fairly prompt in answering, they said that they were in the process of mailing the PINs and not to worry.

What e-mail address did you use when you asked them? It’s been two weeks since I replied to the “missing materials” email and they haven’t responded.

I called penn about when they release decisions…the lady told me that there is no set date. I believe someone else on CC said it would be on May 16 and so on…but the person I talked to did not indicate this…she told me decisions would be “posted rolling” online around mid-may through early june.

Hi, I’ve got a quick question for everyone.

So, when I took my mid term grade report form around to my professors, my biology teacher wouldn’t factor in the curve because she claimed she couldn’t determine what it would be until all the mid terms (we had 3) had been taken. As a result, she gave me an AB (similar to an A-)

Today, she announced the curve, and I am in the A range.

I was wondering if I should send UPenn an email informing them or if I should just let it be. Right now, my natural tendency is to just let it it go, but I don’t know a whole lot about the admission’s process or how important these kinds of things are, so I thought I’d ask for some advice.

Thanks, and good luck to everyone. Should be only a matter of weeks now.

Unless that is your final grade (i.e. what is on your transcript)…then dont bother…

2nd chance is right.
Much weight is placed on final transcript than midterms.
I actually emailed Stanford about sending an “unofficial” midterm report that was similar to UPENN’s, and the director just flat out said no.

I guess, with problems of forgery and stuff, they want the official transcript sent directly from the college with all the stamps/seal/etc.
