so these notifications were by email?

Yes sir. from Penn Admission (xfer) addressed “Penn Transfer App: Follow up for Missing Materials.”

When I spoke to the admissions lady on Monday, she said all necessary notifications of missing materials will be sent out over the “next two days” <– which I guess implies that all such email will be sent by end-of-business today.

Also she said “no news is good news,” meaning if all your materials are properly in, then you won’t receive an email. BUT I’m a little worried, I’m thinking receiving the email implies interest on Penn’s part. Also, I believe there are people on this board, who have received an email, which just confirms that all material has been submitted..or am I wrong?

To everyone’s who received a missing materials notification:

In the first email you received from Penn about missing materials, were you missing AT LEAST 1 document? OR was it just an indirect confirmation that all materials had been received?

I was missing the midterm report, I wouldn’t put too much weight into any of it, it certainly was not any type of personal email or anything, that might have implied some interest

I received the missing materials notification on 4/16 and it says I was missing a professor recommendation(!) I contacted the professor immediately and she insists that she sent it, but offered to fill out another one and fax it in that same day.

I called the Office twice and both times they said they couldn’t check my file to see if they misfiled the original recommendation or tell me if they had received the new one. They said to respond to the notification e-mail. I did, and it’s been over a week with no response.

(Also… if people were still asking about the postcard thing, I sent Part 1 of the application way back in November and received a letter, not a postcard, with login and password for the decisions website.)

Soz…I got the pin way back in november when I submitted part 1 as well…

I did not receive any emails from penn yet…

You guys got pins and passwords?

Did anyone else get this?

I think it is because we sent part 1 in so early…they messed up giving them out…

i got a pin and password a few weeks after sending in my part 1

really? I only got notification of receipt…no pin or anything still

PIN and password probably aren’t important, as long as they registered that they received your app/sent you a note of receipt. I’m hoping.

yeah it was that green (or was it blue…dont remember) postcard thing

does anyone know when they might be coming out with decisions? Do you think it could be the first week of may?

I think 2nd week-ish, that’s the way Columbia did it in 2006 (there’s no 2007 thread).

for those who recieved an email about missing documents…

Did penn say anything regarding how far they are in the admissions process?

based on last year’s penn thread, and counting in some variability…

i think they might actually release results sometime relatively soon…i.e. first week of may and since it’s rolling, the earlier you submitted your app the more likely you will receive a decision before “mid-may”

I’m pretty sure it’s not rolling admission… submitting earlier will get your stuff read first but it won’t give you an advantage in the comparison.

It is most certainly not rolling admission.

If you guys go to this site: [Penn Admissions](http://www.admissions.upenn.edu/decisions/pw.php) does it give you your pin? When I tried to do this it says “We have sent your login information to your email address. You should receive it shortly.” …but nothing ever comes.

It doesn’t even have my email address in the system… nor have I gotten a missing materials notification (which I originally thought was a good thing).

I’m pretty sure that’s for penn’s application; if you used the common app, you won’t be on that database, I think.
