[/ul]**General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc: ** Somewhat upset. The swim coach really liked me and I ranked top 5 among their sprinters, so I was a bit shocked that I didn’t get into Pomona. Shadowed there during Halloween weekend and fit in really well. Among the applicants (7400) they want only 470 (5% of applicant pool) to enroll, including all the ED1s and ED2s so I understand. Plus, the fact that I’m from California and am an Asian female doesn’t seem to help my cause. No better school to get rejected from than small and good 'ol Pomona. I wish every one of you students who choose Pomona the best of luck. There’s a great thrift store downtown, so go there to find an awesome halloween costume! and Yogurtland gives 30% off to students (: Pomona is really a great school, but I guess it’s not the one for me.

Im so excited!!! Pomona was a bit of a reach for me but was my first choice school by far. Being a questbridge fianlist (not matched) helped a lot. I also think my attending the MSAP weekend and having a good interview helped me show how interested I was in coming here. I was also an EDII deferred applicant. My letters and essays were probobly the strongest part of my applicatinon and helped make up for my SAT I scores.

Congrats to all others who got in and cant wait to meet you in the fall!!

I was immensely surprised upon receiving the acceptance letter in the mail, considering I submitted it a few hours it was due and didn’t write the second essay. I feel so blessed to be granted such an opportunity. My test scores are low and I hope students on this site aren’t discouraged by all of the students who have amazing test scores-DON’T GIVE UP!!! Everyone has their own story and a four hour test on a random Saturday morning is only one aspect of your high school experience. I think Pomona is definitely a great option and I will consider it because of the financial aid package. I hope more good news comes on the 29th!

BTW, I didn’t put up the information about my EC’s, awards, and essays because I want to protect my anonymity, so PM me if you find that your curiosity still lingers.
