I feel somewhat lucky to have been accepted since a lot of my friends who are equally accomplished did not get in. I also didn’t interview despite living in SoCal since I called a tad bit late (oops). I wish the best to everyone regardless of acceptance or rejection. As of now, near the top of my choices.

Your mail arrived today?

@alacky
I live in SoCal so I got it Friday but I was out on Spring Break so I just got it yesterday at like midnight.

Oh i see. When do you think mine will arrive (I live in New Jersey)?

@alacky
Probably should be there in the next few days.

[/list]**General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc: **

I feel like I was qualified but with so many applicants I guess I shouldn’t have been so hopeful. I think my lack of AP classes due to studying abroad probably hurt me and I had no community service and my ECs were mostly sports. So far I’ve been accepted at UCSB, UCSD, Lewis and Clark, and Whitman, waitlisted at UCLA, and I’m waiting on Berkeley, Claremont Mckenna, and a few ivies.

Decision: Waitlisted

[] ECs listed on app: I forget what I put on the QB app, but this wasn’t a weak point
[] Job/Work Experience: None
[] Essays (subject and responses): QB essays might have been weaker because they were due so early compared to CommonApp essays. Did not turn in supplement because Pomona does not ask for it for QB RD.
[] Teacher Recs: Rushed, I decided to do QB the week it was due and did not give my recommenders much time.
[] Counselor Rec: Rushed
[] Applied on (EA?): RD

General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc:
I thought I had a strong interview. It was my third and I had really gotten a style to them at that point. However, I had no expectation of acceptance. All I can really say is it’s a pleasant surprise. I also got accepted to Swarthmore, and I’m waiting on Harvard and Princeton. If I don’t get in to either of the latter, I’ll go to Pomona, as it’s closer to my home state.

Are accepted students given priority in the mailing of letters?

International student here from Southeast Asia. They sent my letter through FedEx, it arrived in about 3 days, not counting the weekend.

@wcherry, re: Princeton and Harvard – watch out for those TA’s, especially those who speak tortured English.

Does a thin envelope mean rejected?

A large envelope will be an acceptance. Otherwise, it’s a waitlist or rejection.

…well, the accepted envelopes have “Pomona Class of 2016” on the front…

Can someone post a picture? :)

When I get home I’ll post pictures of my ED acceptance envelope and my enrollment envelope (which I believe looks just like the acceptance letter).

Rejected. 3.7 UW GPA, 2340 SAT.

Decision: Waitlisted
