I got the mailer too, but I really doubt it foreshadows an acceptance for me. Pomona’s definitely a super reach for me considering my stats.
It seemed like a generic packet showing off the school. For other schools, specifically UCI, I know that some people got a “generic type letter” in the recent weeks (I did not receive one), and people are debating whether or not it has any correlation to an acceptance! Guess we’ll be able to see if it did have any relation for our decisions in the coming weeks.
The mailer doesn’t mean anything. Every applicant who filled out the Pomona Request for More Information form gets three mailers a year, and the last one was released on late Feb.
No mailer here, but I live on the East Coast, and Pomona’s outreach to me has been pretty limited. I’m pretty sure I’m on their mailing list though…
I wouldn’t imagine it has any correlation to your decision though, probably just kind of reminding everyone (mostly people who don’t have Pomona as a first choice) that Pomona is a great school.
@binatang
What’s the reasoning for that? If I open UCLA first and get in and then get rejected from POMONA, I’ll be less happy. But if I start with POMONA get rejected and then get into UCLA it’ll be very comforting. And if I get rejected from both thennn SO BE IT :((!
