I was also deferred EDII, and I got in! Keep your hopes up - anything is possible!

hey guys…help me out here.am international and just logged into mypomona to find it newly designed with a message to the class of 2014 starting with "warmest congratulations."i hope am not in way over my head but does that mean…you know…that am in??i dont know cz i havent gotten my decision mail yet!!anyone else seen this??
oh n am not referring to the whole ITS thing that had us all speculating before.this one’s called ‘the admitted student portal’

kratoskicksass: I’m not an international, but I just logged in to myPomona and I’m seeing the same thing. I’m nervous because I didn’t receive my letter today, and I expected to, seeing as I live in the States and decisions were sent Friday, priority mail, so I’m kind of expecting rejection/waitlist at this point. Getting access to the admitted student portal is a little surprising, to say the least, and I hope it’s not a technical glitch or something.

So, I have no idea, but I’m in basically the same situation as you.

I bet you guys are in

Am so hoping it isnt a technical glitch…it would be really disappointing to read all dat stuff only to get rejected/waitlisted:-(
fingers crossed…pretty much what we’ll all b doing whole of this week

I’ve heard that a lot of students have been waitlisted this year (based on acquaintances, etc.), but I’m not familiar with Pomona’s waitlist numbers. Anyone know the stats? (% waitlisted, % usually accepted from waitlist, etc.)

Pomona admissions is re-figuring myPomona for the admitted students. Many people have not been able to log on including admitted students…I don’t think this change has anything to do with your admissions status, but don’t lose hope internationals!!

Good luck!

Ugh. I really want to get off the waitlist. I hope not too many are on it! D:

I’m not seeing anything new on MyPomona but I got the Fed-Ex e-mail. I’m an international by the way. And is it just my not noticing it before or has MyPomona been redesigned? It really looks beautiful!

MyPomona was recently redesigned to be more in line with the new website. I’m really enjoying the change myself.

Hello, I had a quick question…

is the general consensus that Pomona College has sent out all admitted mail via priority mail? Meaning if you haven’t recieved any notification by Pomona, you’ve been waitlisted/rejected?
I’m just a bit nervous being from Chicago. Should it have arrived by now, cause I still haven’t recieved any mail.

AT_Field:
Unfortunately, this maybe true. Unless your letter got lost in the mail. I know some people in IL who have gotten their letters already…
I’m sorry.

But there have been reports of people already getting waitlist/rejection letters too right? Seems logical they’d send all the decisions at once.

Yes, I received my waitlist letter yesterday
. So they definitely had to be sent out on Friday at the same time as the acceptance letters.

To giraffee and balleranddancer,
that’s what I’m confused about. Some have gotten waitlisted letters, some have gotten acceptance letters. Could it be that acceptance letters are still pending? Has anyone got an acceptance letter TODAY? Perhaps I’m a little too hopeful…

anywhoo, it’s not like it’ll change my decision. Whether I get accepted or not, that’s all for time to tell.

D got rejected today. We are in Chicago too - and the letter was dated 3/25. Her sister is a freshman at Pomona. Stats not as good as older sister, but decent enough. Apparently the family hook doesn’t carry much weight.

ACT - 31
WGPA - 5.13/5.0
Only 1 AP last year, 3 this year but otherwise all honors except advanced math
Lots of EC’s, 4 year varsity swimmer, pres of science club, co-editor of lit magazine
Essays were decent
Rec’s were amazing
No interview

My S never got an email with a username and password for mypomona. Anyone know when those emails were sent? He was accepted ED II and I have searched back through all the communications and I don’t see anything. Another call to admissions…

Early Decision applicants never got them. Only regular decision applicants got them
I applied EDII, was deferred, and then accepted and have not received anything yet. I called admissions and they said they are working it out and will get us the information about myPomona soon!

Starryeyed, mail does get lost, and your point is good about hearing nothing. I’d call them this morning.

Thanks for doing the legwork balleranddancer! Saved me a phone call…
