What's a curve?

Curve is a graphic representation showing the relative performance of individuals as measured against each other, used especially as a method of grading students in which the assignment of grades is based on predetermined proportions of students.

"When you are lying down, blood flow to the heart (venous return or preload) is generally higher compared to what it is when you are standing."

Well, what would the answer be then? Voluntarily contracting your veins would increase blood flow as well.

The June 2004 SAT 2 BIO was VERY similar to ours. In their thread, they seemed to come to have a similar disagreement. Could it possibly be the contracting the diaphragm that wouldn't help?

Fine, I am going to agree with you, but voluntarily contracting a vein would theoretically increase the blood flow. So I see no correct answer for that question. (The question asks which of the following EXCEPT, not which of the following does not occur)

Also do you remember what you put for the 3 questions about protein purification experiment near the end of M section? Did anyone put "increased enzyme activity only" as an answer for that?

yea i put increased enzyme activity, cuz everything else was decreasing. Yea the vein question should be thrown out in my opinion.

Does anyone know if the biology curve changes drastically from the one from the real SATs? Like the real SATs curve is 73/80 for an 800, so the real curves shouldn't differ far from that one right? So a 75/80 or 76/80 for 800 isn't unlikely?

OMG GUYS! according to the official sat 2 bio score thread for the june 2004 test, everyone agrees that the curve was phenomenal! WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WE GET A GOOD CURVE!

Social Pariah what do you think you got?

Yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm hoping for a 760+ (took Bio-M)

"Also do you remember what you put for the 3 questions about protein purification experiment near the end of M section? Did anyone put "increased enzyme activity only" as an answer for that?"

i took the M but i don't remember the protein experiment question...or not the one that had to do with enzymes. can someone repeat it?

and pariah, how good of a curve? any chance i could 800 it with 5 wrong? (i know, wishful thinking...)

What does June 2004's curve have anything to do with ours?

I think it is possible with 5 wrong. Thats a 74/80 and the real book curve is 73/800 for 800. Also the people say the curve will be generous.

gxing, this test was almost a duplicate of the June 2004 test. The curves should be comparable.

OMG! Guys do you realize we are freakin' out over something we cannot control or know about until the 24th! Oh wait but hey chech a day or two earlier because this was a SUBJECT test and once I saw my score early!!

what about the Tundra question and the Taiaga! I put something about tundra with frozen soil? Had no idea!

apfreak, was the tundra question in the Ecological section? I took Bio-M and don't remember anything about that. But I do believe tundra has frozen soil (permafrost).

Let's not get overexcited and overestimate the curve. That's the worst thing that can happen.

What about the question on cell movement? It was just flagella and cilia right? not microvilli?

Correct gxing.

Also, June 2005's top tier of scores was 740-800. This means any kid who got within that score range is top percentile.
