Official Post-test October Sat Ii Biology Thread

abcdef12

For the protein purification experiment, the enzyme activity was the only thing that increased (everything else decreased). Also, the protein should be stored in a cool environment to prevent denaturing.

um...what was the question setup for the protein purif. experiment?

i hope i didn't forget to do 2 pages or something. bc that is soooo like something I would do.

why was the grasshopper's legs the middle part? i put the back...there were two legs in the back and 4 in the front i was so confused!

What was the one where it was about meiosis? anaphase I or anaphase II?

i put anaphase I. It was the separation of homologous chromosomes.

fine answer his question and not mine...

sry nick

actually, if u looked at the diagram closely, i think all the legs came from the middle region

what was the question setup for the protein purif. experiment? i reallly need to know. i think i have to send the cancellation thing tonight or tomorrow morning. HELP! thx

dude abcdef, there were only 3 questions for the protein purif experiment

How much did the mass of protein drop?

Which of the following happened
did enzyme activity increase?
did amount of protein increase?
etc

What conditions should the protein be subjected to?
a) store it in a cool environment to prevent denaturing
b) fluctuate pH
c) fluctuate temperature by 10 degrees

The answers for protein purification:

Dropped 15 g in protein

Enzyme activity increase only

Store in a cool environment to preven the proteins from denaturization

btw, so the fruit fly alcohol oxidizing enzyme question's answer was that the fruitflys without it are more prone to alcohol poisoning or dying from alcohol right?

yea, it was that fruit flies will die from alcohol buildup. At first I was gonna put the answer about fermentation, but then i remembered that fruit flies do not anerobically respire.

were the protein purif questions and fruit fly questions on the E part? thx social pariah & il bandito...but its still not ringing a bell

abcdef12, the protein/fly were questions of Molecular section.

WHAT!? was the protein purification one the one with a picture of test tubes and centrifuging, etc? and was the fruit fly question towards the end?

Does collegeboard post out the curve rate? How has the curve been in the past?(i.e. how many wrong can you have and still break a 700?)

What about the ecology test last few questions?

abcdef, I think you're right ^^.
drinkingmilkalldaylong - not sure, if someone has this info, please post it.
sweetpapayababe - didn't take E

yeah can someone find the online collegeboard curve!

was the bacteria experiment part of the molecular as well?

yes, i believe so.
