Will you get in? Why/why not

Augh... what a scary thread! :o

I don't want to go first... I'll let someone else have the honors.

rejected. grades aren't high enough, and brown hates my school. a few years ago some kid tried to break the early decision agreement, and then last year, finally one kid actually got into PLME, then turned it down for northwestern's HPME :(

accepted. good major, shown good acheivement. immigrant SAT is low esp in math, but then Brown doesn't care about SAT scores so much had interview send cd in, have coressepondence with dean

Accepted: I've already been accepted "Early Write" from Williams and Amherst, and I've gotten a likely letter from Dartmouth, so I'm making this prediction on induction. I have an impeccable transcript and great scores.

But I'm not getting my hopes up too much, as much of Brown's application, especially the essays, were completely different. Although I would be miffed, I would not be surprised if I am rejected.

Accepted--hopefully. I have an early write from Williams and a likely letter from Dartmouth. I hope the trend continues.

Rejected - cuz if i think i will get accepted then i will probably get rejected =/

Waitlisted.

Because that sounds like something that would happen to me.

Waitlisted.

I was deferred in Decemeber, so im guessing rejected because the record number of apps this year and my lower SAT scores, but i did send a letter in Jan and 2 more recs plus my mid year with A's n a B

i hate this thread.

I think that I'll just wait a couple of weeks. I don't want to jinx myself. Good luck everyone... we're almost there!!! :)

Don't lost hope you guys~ Hope we all make it :)
Good luck !!!!! In a matter of days this agonizing wait will be over~

I'll let you know in two weeks. If there's one thing I've learned from blunders in the past, it's not to jump the gun.

I would have to agree that a great deal of Williams "early writes" will be seated at Brown. My S hopefully included.

Rejected - From Long Island, therefore, admissions officer automatically assumes that everything on my college app was done solely to get into college and not b/c I enjoy any of them and therefore, I must not be a genuine person. Yeah, so I'm pretty sure that's what goes through their head every time they read an application from Long Island. Unfair geographical location. If I lived in North Dakota, I will probably get in.

Augh, I pray that my decision will prove everything I just said up there wrong. It would be a wonder/miracle/ecstasy if I got into Brown.

i hate this thread

:( Sorry if we're depressing you persianking.

I'm just gonna wait and see... I wouldn't want to jinx myself, either. :p

I really don't know, though. Because while I have all the grades and scores, nothing really makes me stand out. But then again I am extremely strong and "credentialed" (so to speak) in my prospective major. And one of my essays was pretty outstanding (IMO).

We'll see... we'll see...

I am too scared to state anything solidly. I might get my hopes up prematurely.
I am a solid student and knowing kids from my school with equal or lesser grades, SAT and EC's that have been accepted I am more than qualified. The only other person from my school applying is on of my friends that I row with every day, so if one of us gets in and not the other I don't know how we will deal with each other.
