Since no has made one as of yet, let us discuss.

Anyone know anything about the yield? ;)

Maybe it’s a 60-65% yield, but that may change since Princeton returned to EA.

Really, its that high?
I’m crossing fingers but have no idea what to expect…

The yield will be higher this year. It’s predicted to be 1300 out of 2095, (in contrast to last year’s of 1300 out of 2300), so roughly 62%. Although honestly this could change, at least based off anecdotal evidence, I only know of like four people who have turned Princeton down for another school out of a group of about 30-40 HYPSM cross-admits.

So…assuming a 62% yield, approximatley how many people get off the waitlist? 10? 50? 100?

Can someone answer this?

A 62% yield is 1,299 students out of the 2095. So for a class of 1300 it will be 1 free spot to get off the waitlist. This will only happen if there is a 62% yield.

If it makes anyone feel better, out of 15 people I know who got accepted to Princeton, only 6 have decided to attend.

people should post here as they start getting news of their acceptance so we can all be jealous! haha

Hello everyone-

I figured I’d post my query in this thread since (1) it pertains to my status as a waitlistee, and, in all likelihood, (2) it has probably been asked somewhere else for an earlier year but I lack the requisite motivation to look for it and (3) I don’t think it’s deserving of its own thread.

I’ll make it short and sweet. I have written a letter to Princeton’s admissions office detailing why, exactly, I think Princeton is the best fit for me and that I WILL accept an offer of admission should I get off the waitlist. Also, I’ve received a number of awards in the past month and I briefly detail those as well.

My question is this: Am I better off sending the letter in the mail or just e-mailing the office?

I appreciate any input - thanks!

Email is fine. My D emailed her follow-up letter, expressing exactly the things you mentioned. She may have followed with a hard copy snail mailed, but it was unnecessary as she rec’d a response via email thanking her for sending in additional info. I think she also sent in an additional letter of recommendation.

in the 2012 parents thread, 2 parents said their kids chose other schools. I personally know a couple of kids who chose other schools. However, in India thread, one kid said he chose Princeton over Harvard.

I’m the only one from my school attending Princeton, although 5 kids (including me) got accepted. One was waitlisted but he turned down the waitlist offer.

Oh, I am so lost. I did write a short letter on Why Princeton, but have no idea where to send it to. One of the replies above said daughter received a reply for her updates email, but so far for all emails I’ve sent to uaoffice@princeton.edu I never got a reply email since like…January. Anyone know a better address?

In my D’s school, I know two who were accepted. Both will attend.

Petitbobbon,
Email again to check in or better yet, call and ask.
Phone: (609) 258-3060

@Petitbonbon

No! I called them, and they said they got it. They didn’t send me an email confirmation either

thanks for the replies people…I called and was told that Princeton doesn’t send any sort of email replies unless the applicant strongly demands it or something… Okies I guess the letter is added to the file…

Isn’t the first round of waitlist acceptances coming around soon? Did anyone get off the WL yet? Curious!

Nope petitbonbon, I’m still waiting for their decision

I vaguely remember reading on the reply card that the latest Princeton will keep the waitlist open until is June 30th or something. Can anybody verify this?

July 1st is the final day^
