lol hookem, in a nutshell - you’re an arrogant little 17 year old kid who thinks he knows everything about politics just because your history teacher told you something…
and yeah - i really tried to fill my post with proofreading and big words that try to flaunt my intelligence, ie) quagmire… reminds me of your essays.

“Clarence Thomas (yes, look him up)” lol… as if i didn’t know who he was before you stated his name… you’re just conceited bro. theres nothin more to it – you can try to dispute anything, but in the end, all of your posts are filled with hubris (excessive pride, i’ll save you the trouble of “looking it up”)

^ Actually, my history teacher is a complete Socialist. I debate with him all the time.

That was a low blow. First of all, I used hardly any grandiose vocabulary in them. Second, mine are far superior to yours, and you’re jealous. Sad, but true.

I told you I would’ve written in Ron Paul. I hated McCain-Palin.
And yes, TR, FDR, and Reagan all schemed behind the backs of the American people. You can’t succeed in Washington otherwise. They also all made big mistakes.

Lol theres that good ol’ arrogance… You haven’t read my essays. hahahaha… and trust me, i would never, in my life, be jealous - especially of you (ie: “Source of Inspiration: A clear blue sky, a classic piece of prose or poetry, and a lawn chair.”) … rofl

i’ll withdraw from this and sleep, with you thinking that you still know everything in politics with little to no evidence to back any of your claims up (watch you go straight to google to try prove me wrong) – but if i ever see you in real life, we’ll continue this, t’would be fun, eh?

hookem: Justice John G. Roberts Jr. messed up the oath, and Obama realized this, which is why he laughed. Roberts fixed his mistake, and Obama followed. Also, Obama didn’t write the speech. It was done from scratch by Jon Favreau, and Obama came in and rewrote it (unlike many presidents, who simply give it). I don’t think Obama has the time to do fact checks on a speech, that’s what he has staff for. Speaking of staff, you do understand that Obama doesn’t make every single decision by himself? It’s funny that you say Obama is going to fail, considering his extremely well qualified cabinet (which will actually be making the real calls). I don’t think any president in the history of the United States has been an economics guru, for example. That’s why Washington had Greenspan for so many years.

Get a degree from Columbia/Harvard Law School and then come back and say something about President Obama.

You are clearly ignorant about the political process/Obama. Look up “critical election” and do some reading. I suggest “Critical Elections and the Mainsprings of American Politics” by Burnham.

Disclaimer - I am not an Obama fanboy. I volunteered for the McCain campaign.

Reading comprehension is clearly not your forte. Re-read my post, please.

I suggest more reading for you. Read up on media bias (or rather, lack therof) with respect to George Bush being “dumb.” He was elected to two terms as the President of the United States. Hmmm…

^ So you admit that Obama’s simply reading drivel that staff writers have pre-prepared without actually considering what he’s saying? Finally, someone with some sense!

I’m an independent who typically leans conservative, and I say that anyone who repeatedly mispronounces a word like “nucular” instead of “nuclear” (even after being told that he’s wrong), claims Saddam has WMDs, and can’t form coherent sentences half the time is dumb

No, I’m saying that fact was unimportant in the speech, really, and he just didn’t bother to waste time checking something as petty as that (imagine that, LOL, the president fact checking how many times the oath was given, the answer turns out to be trivia!).

Bush is richer than you will ever be, was a two term president (which I can say with some confidence you will never be), and has a Yale and Harvard degree (which you can’t guarantee yourself). Also, I don’t see a problem with the way he pronounces “nuclear,” it’s just his dialect. Schedule, for example, wasn’t originally pronounced skedule, but shehdule. You are saying the vast majority of Americans are dumb because they “mispronounce” a word? Bush isn’t the most eloquent man, but he can give a good speech and he sticks to his word. Anyways, you are once again ignorant of the process. Bush’s advisors gave him info. regarding Saddam and WMD, I’m sorry but George didn’t go over to Iraq and collect field intel himself; even if this was not the case, I suspect Bush had ulterior motives in going into Iraq (I like to think he was finishing the beef his father had with Saddam).

“I suggest “Critical Elections and the Mainsprings of American Politics” by Burnham.” !! I just read this for my gov class! hahaha great read… but seriously vouch…

Obama’s schooling is obviously different than Bush’s, “George Bush got a degree from Yale, and it obviously means absolutely nothing.” – Obama wasn’t able to ride in to Yale on 2 or 3 generations of legacy, now was he? No. He earned his spot to columbia/harvard through hard work, and it shows in his demeanor… get a grip kid

you pretty much showed your ignorance about politics enough, haven’t you? – honestly why would you spend time trying to point out/criticize Obama for saying 44 pres’s instead of 43? Just why? it’s obviously a trivial, minute detail that amounts to nothing… i’m led to believe you can only fallback on this 110% minor gaffe of his, because there are no more that you can point out (that actually hold some significance)… bah…

Yes, hookem, just keep picking on the little mistakes in Obama’s speech. It will surely prove that Obama is a failure.

Being a great speech maker has nothing to do with that person’s personality, their visions, their leadership. Public speaking is a skill. Memorizing words is a skill. Have you ever tried being on national television 24/7? Have nuclear bombs and people dying in Iraq haunting you at night? You know what a President’s schedule is like? EVERYONE MAKES MISTAKES. IT’S OUR NATURE. You’ve never made a word blip in your life? I highly doubt it. It frustrates me so much that people are caught up in little word mistakes that people make (whether it be Bush OR Obama OR Palin or any other politician) and not focusing on what their policies are, what they are actually DOING in Washington.

How can you be so pessimistic about someone who hasn’t even STARTED their job yet? Give him at least a CHANCE before you make these kinds of comments.

It’s this kind of snobbery that deters me from making Princeton my first-choice school.
