NickZhao....are you a troll? You seem inordinately bitter that you got deferred from Princeton. I don't want to offend you, but with your stats it isn't that surprising. 2050, although a good SAT score, is well below the average admitted applicant. Your ECs are nothing special, and you don't have a hook.

Are you serious that you have a love for Joseph Stalin? I dont care if you love anyone else, but not Hitler or Stalin. Actually, Stalin killed more people than Hitler did. And plus, it was his own people he killed. Please dont say that anywhere else, it's for your own good. If you still love him, I have nothing to say about you. I just hope that you said that without knowing him.

I was just about to say what theonlyone said, but he beat me to it. Stalin was a...Still, I think Hitler was worse but thats just me. It doesn't matter-both are burning in hell.

Does it help to have extra letters of recommendation?

We believe that the recommendation letters we request (plus the optional letter, if desired) give us all the personal assessment we need to make thoughtful, well-informed decisions. Additional letters tend to simply confirm what we have already learned.

General Comments: All I can say is that me and my family are crushed after getting rejected from my top choice. I can't believe I was rejected...I'm worried what the Princeton admissions staff is thinking when they reject a student with near perfect test scores and great resume. Im just shocked...

ASAP17: Princeton and all the other selective schools reject applicants with a combination of perfect SATs and perfect grades all the time. They receive so many applications with perfect STATS, they have to look at other areas of your application to make a decision. You probably just didn't "stand out" against the other applicants, that's all. Doesn't mean you aren't qualified.

I didn't know Princeton had sent decisions already.

^^btw.. stalin wasnt exactly communist... actually the complete opposite.. i dont wanna be a tool but that annoyed me a bit.. c'mon this is a princeton thread

you might have gotten deferred because you founded the young democrats club yet are a fan of the biggest right-wing fascist dictator of all time. just a thought.

eh, everyone thinks they're the best though.. even if you get rejected from princeton you still might say.. well what if i was 1/500 instead of 5/500, could that have gotten me in.. you can't really just let it go right away

so basically im censoring all the obscene language that i use when talking about these schools with other people...

there is no rhyme or reason to anyone getting in, for the most part. everyone has good grades, for the most part, and everyone has a crapload of extra curriculars...

i vote we all stop caring. then, if we dont get in, we can send letters with no return address with data off of this site (other peoples gpa, sat's etc) that demonstrates how we were just as good/better than them, and write "#$*% you Princeton" as a cover sheet... thats my plan...

And Stalin's Russia was not a right-wing dictatorship, med1488. Granted, it was a ruthless single-party regime, but the ideology was communism gone corrupt and twisted, not reactionary right-wing thinking.

Got a thin letter today. ;_;
At least the wait is over.. was expecting a rejection anyways, so I wasn't totally heartbroken. It was the last decision.

I co-founded the Math Team, which has subsequently dismantled. So I guess I was the Math Team. Alabama public schools aren't too keen on math. (pout) General Comments:
No, I do not like chit'lin's. They are very weird.
