too lazy, i'll take your word for it.

I just read through the thread...I'm sorry to all those who were deferred, and I wish you the best of luck in the RD round!! I'm sure you can get in, it was just bad luck with QB that kept you out. So dont let this decision be an indicator of what might be - this should be the anomaly, not the norm.

Once again, I truly wish you the best luck during the RD round. It aint over till its over. :)

gqunit, you should send your essay too ;)
and i'll send you mine, yeah?

..haha, i kid. but yeah, gqunit, allow me to admire your essay por favor.

I agree with BD89. I feel for you guys, but don't give up!

General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc:
Thank-you so much Questbridge! I would never have had an opportunity to go to my dream college without QB. Also good luck to all who are applying ED and RD!!!

awesome!!! congrats to you once again! =)

Hm. Goes to show the benefits of applying as a US citizen or resident (or the detriments of applying as an international).

congrats!! haha i'm loving the hook about the essays :P

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! someone finally got accepted via qb

yep, very impressive, intel. again, congrats! have fun buying your sweater from the online princeton store!!

did you immigrate here? must have been hard for you as none of your parents went to college....

Ya, I came when I was 4 years old. It was just hard to even just to get into the country, because at the time you would have to know someone here in order to come. Unfortunately, both my parents did not have the opportunities as I did since they grew up in China during the Cultural Revolution (Mao's infamous scheme to get rid of intellectuals) during which all schools (including universities) were shut down :(. But I am very thankful since I have been granted this opportunity that my parents could never have dreamed of. :) Thanks again and good luck everyone!!!

Oops, I almost forgot, THANK-YOU PRINCETON! Gooo Tigers!!!

Congrats Intel!! You definitely deserve to go to Princeton, but more importantly, Princeton deserves you. :)

Hey, intel, this is weird, but your experience about your parents with the cultural revolution sounds exactly like my own story. I came from China when I was 5, so I sort of know what it feels like. Anyways, congratulations on getting into Princeton!

intel, I envy you a LOT !!!!! :P
Congrats again for making into your dream school!
AHh only if I could be at your position right now.. ;(

But one thing that concerns me is that....

Hm. Goes to show the benefits of applying as a US citizen or resident (or the detriments of applying as an international).
[/quote]

Does that mean intel, you were green card holder as an immigrant and gqunit was an international as an immigrant?
B/c I still think gqunit very much deserves to get in as well as intel .

This concerns me A LOT b/c Im also an Asian , no green card holder living in CA, OC, ED applicant and with VERY VERY similar stats with both of you.. well, closer to intel's one.

Does that greencard status matter a lot during admission process even though Princeton claims it is need-blind over int'l???

for princeton it SHOULD NOT matter...

but for schools like MIT they don't let internationals even apply EA. :(

zzibuya...we are at disadvantage at every school except for HYP, which have enough money to support internationals.

again, Princeton doesn't care if you are international or not if you have lived in U.S. and went to high school here.

Also, qb program specifically states that it is a scholarship program funded partly by the federal government. internationals (no green card holders) are ineligible for federal financial aid. therefore i might have been in a disadvantage.

then again, Princeton ED is pretty hard to get into, seeing that all recruits, legacies, etc. as well as very accomplished ppl like intel apply. so i am not complaining. yet.
