Yeah in hindsight, both my essays are total crap haha

haha, want to trade?

I'm reading my bad one ("who influenced you?" - HORRIBLE topic), and it's like
"i like my dad"
"i worked hard in school"
"my dad worked too."

oh, I liked my essays! See, the trick is, DO NOT re-read them before the decisions.

Actually, I rather like my first essay (Princeton "nations" motto) although the motto is rather slapped on at the end.

I'm also worried that a Princeton admissions officer will find something wrong with it. I was reading a book by a Harvard admissions officer who said that his(?) pet peeve was when kids used "myriad" as a noun. Now, I have almost always said "a myriad of people" although "there were myriad people" is what the Harvardite said was correct. Anyway, I went home, looked in Webster's and found that "myriad" is indeed both an adjective and a noun. Thus kids who were using the word correctly (according to Webster's) were possibly being punished because the admission officer only knew of one way how to use the word.

it is both a noun and adjective. why would a harvard adcom person NOT know this??

pk, were you being sarcastic in #257?
I didn't think so, but I have been known to miss sarcasm quite a few times.
Anyway, I really want to be your future classmate, too!! :)

P.S. Bad news...my friend didn't get into Vassar. And she was a legacy. I'm really scared now.

lol btles i wasnt sarcastic. i like ppl w/ humor who arent always insanely uptight

Well, I know a guy who went to Harvard, and frankly, I think he's a bit of an idiot :P But don't tell anyone!

hehe I think I would fit that description
Crossing my fingers that we'll meet next year!

I hope you guys don't use this thread as the real ED decisions one. You guys have really messed it up

lol dun worry mate.

we gonna start a new one

ok, i was just presenting my thoughts on the issue is all.

pk123, i definitely think you should make the new ED THREAD :). There's nothing wrong with making it on friday or even thursday.

I think it should be made on Thursday (by Pk) with the understanding that no one will post until decisions are heard.

sounds good.

Are the QB's going to just repost their decisions, or will PK just copy and paste into post number 1 (or 2)?

lol..why pk?? is pk = Princeton King?? lol

yes =P

He has posted the most...though OMZ is a close second, so she might have an argument if she wants to do the new thread...I just said PK because that seemed to be the consensus.

nah I don't care much for starting threads.... =P

lol princeton king hahaha sailesh i want to be ur future classmate too.

too bad me, sailesh, OMZ and btles can't be roommates. (btles is a girl!!ewww)
