GUYS!! DON"T WORRY!!! my income level is too high, and i seriously didn't have any leadership skills, and my essays were truly average... to be accepted via Questbridge!

GUYS!! DON"T WORRY!!! my income level is too high, and i seriously didn't have any leadership skills, and my essays were truly average... to be accepted via Questbridge!

you guys will definitely get in! Seriously!!!!

good god gqunit...how in GODS NAME could they defer you...you were AMAZING...

OMG IM SO SORRY I COULDNT COME ON BEFORE WITH MY CONDOLENCES! my internet was down.

gqunit! omg! how?!?! you are the PERFECT APPLICANT! i dont understand how your income level could be TOO HIGH. isn't QB only for people with lower incomes? and isn't Princeton need-blind anyway? meaning they don't see your income level?

This is sooo scary.
And I think this is proven by the fact that we already have 9 pages in this thread when only 3 applicants have posted their results.

if gqunit can't get in, WHO CAN??????????????

gq how do you lack leadership?? you started a club, and u are president of it. you are captain of a team, and you started an amazing community service program!

and you have a job to help support your family!!

maybe P'ton just doesnt like your school lol.

any idea how many ppl go to P'ton and other ivies in general from your school, gq?

in about 5-10 years...only 1*

double legacy :P

Speaking of the clutter, should we remake this thread on the night of the 14th? I can whip up a new template using some ASCII h4x that will be just copy and paste (no need to delete spaces between the [ and * in the current template), and the QB applicants can repost their fates if they wish to.

I think that the new thread should be reserved for decisions and this thread or another one could be kept for comments, making it easier for 2012 hopefuls to see the data.

Yay or nay?

hey! I say yay! becuz i am having a gay day! I will make someone pay! Come to SF bay! Ay!

ok i will stop. :)

!!!!Yay!!!!

yea I agree....although these decisions won't be as relevant to next years' (last year of ED), it would still be pretty difficult to navigate through 240 pages of information (if we stay at the same pace). Lol I love that random statistic.

I agree too.
Yeaauhhhh

If I forget two Thursdays from now, someone remind me! Although, I doubt that I will forget, because it's the real first college acceptance letter I'll be receiving.

Hmmmmm.... I'm bored, anyone want me to make them a website?

can you hack?

What do you mean by 'hack'? Shut down a small site? Sure. Get a random username/password from a somewhat insecure site? Sure. Get all the user info from a site? Perhaps, if I'm lucky. Break into eBay, Paypal, etc... No.

really???? You can do all that?????? daaaaangggg

ok. can you break into www.princeton.edu....(you know where i am going with this don't you? :D)

jk....or am I?

omg this is really really sad.....;( im freaking out here. why is QB harder to get in? i'm really sorry ernie, kissthesky, and gqunit you guys were all so qualified and princeton is really blind for not accepting you

gqunit, were ur essays really really bland and bad? or were they just not glowing?

NO WAY. I know that you're joking, but first of all, I don't think that they have their data accessible from the web, even if a username and password were required. Second, there would only be a few possible name/password combinations, and getting one of those pairs would be extremely unlikely. And lastly and most importantly, I believe it was the UC's that had students get early access to admission results a few years ago. Of course, they were denied admission and probably blacklisted as well. That aside, as a programmer and web developer myself, I really look down upon malicious users because what they're doing is completely pointless. Really, even if you hate someone, what good will it do to shut down their site for a day?

Now for my spiel:

Contrary to popular belief, 'hacking' is not malicious. Hacking involves using code to see how the internals of a system work, for example, hackers were able to write development kits for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, PSP, DS, etc... Of course, Sony is probably not overjoyed that people can run their own code on a PS2 (sometimes homebrew games are more enjoyable than commercial ones!), but it's not hurting anyone, really.

'Cracking', on the other hand, is malicious, and involves breaking into a system to steal sensitive information and whatnot. I'm sure that it's also arguable that spyware programmers are crackers as well. Hackers despise crackers, because crackers have given hackers a bad name, and because hackers live to learn, while crackers live to destroy.

I could go on and on about hacker subculture, but you can read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hacker_culture if you're interested. It goes on to mention black hat, gray hat, white hat, and script kiddy, which are various levels of hackers, although I would say that black hat = cracker, and script kiddy = person who thinks he knows how to use a computer.

Anyway, what I'm planning to do is make it so that lines like:
Decision:
can be posted, without spaces so that copying and pasting will be easier for everyone.
