Official Princeton Rd Decisions

and sonicyouth,
yea, i know... we ga applicants...
oh well... ::sigh::
i have a friend that goes to dunwoody high school who got in ED...

ouch...
oh well. yes, I have a college that I think I will like: MIT.
I am visiting for the first time this weekend (first time to MIT, first time to Boston, first time visiting any college at all officially which is a little weird, but I just never got around to it. i think i saved a bunch of money that way, assuming that I enjoy my time this weekend).

So, my situation:
GA Tech: Accepted, basically Free b/c of HOPE scholarship.
UGA: see above.
Emory: accepted, waiting on fin.aid decision.
Tufts: accepted, waiting on fin.aid decision as well (apparently they are still missing some forms)
UChicago: accepted, with fin.aid I have to pay about $19,000
Upenn: rejected
Yale: rejected
Princeton: rejected
MIT: accepted, with fin.aid I have to pay about $13,000

so... the winner is...

Hao! Noooo! Dangit! I was really really really hoping you would get in :( But hey, make no mistake about it: we (and just like legend said, this "we" is the happy posters of the Princeton board, not Princeton itself) will come to visit you in Ithaca and see you at games and everything. You're a really cool, and nice to boot. You'll have a great time at Cornell and stick your tongue out at Princeton a year from now for having rejected you.

And soany, I didn't really know you on the board, but everyone else seems to love you, so I'm sad you didn't get in either :( Best of luck wherever you are!

go to University of Chicago, unless you've got a math-science bent (I guess then MIT would be well worth the extra funds). A friend of mine goes there--it's an excellent, "invigorating" learning atmosphere. There are small, intimate classes, good professor-student interaction, and a BEAUTIFUL campus. look at their admissions video on uchicago.edu. I almost applied to transfer there.

can i ask where you almost transfered from?

oh, and phil,
thanks for the well-wishes. :) good luck to you as well at pton!
i was a lurker for a LONG time... but i ... (wanting to say came out of the closet... bad?) started posting a lot more recently in the anticipation of decisions...

Hao

if I can take three of those letters, let me just say, whoa. There's really no rhyme or reason to this process. You got into two great schools that many of my friends were rejected from, but I can understand your surprise with the number of waitlists you got! I think you're an awesome/amazingly smart person and I know you'll do great in Ithaca.

Thanks Phil and Enco and everyone else again for all the wonderful messages. I absolutely want to meet every single one of you next year, even more so than I want to go to college! I'm not quite giving up on my four lovely waitlists so maybe I'll be closer than I think. And if not, that's okay too. I feel so privileged to have gotten to know this special Princeton CC group and if no one keeps in touch, I WILL make the ardurous journey from Ithaca to track people down. Beware, I read your xangas!!! :)

Trust me, she will indeed read your Xangas. She read through mine hardcore-style.

LOL! I only skimmed through your survey...the white on black hurt my eyes. >.<

Yeah I apologize :X Would you prefer hot pink and red?

Yeah, she found mine too. Then again, she has the ability to grill me every day at school...

Sillymon...you have a link to it in your AIM Buddy Profile.

lol yeah, i guess i do...

Rejected.

the dream was nice while it lasted

Why did the html not work?

u have to delete the space after the [ =P

Celton - you need to remove the space after the opening square bracket. So [ *] would be typed without the initial space after the '['
