I always find those films funny for some reason

I remeber watching one on an airplane ride muted and then just bursting out and laughing.... that was embarrasing

hehe they ARE funny :D

anonymous--never implied they were everything :-P, much of it, actually most of it has to do with where you're applying from and your ethnicity
ECs and scores kinda just throw you in the running. i went through this process with too many overqualified amazing seniors--people with the scores, with the hooks and unbelievable ECs. yet, it's never enough when you come from an area brimming with such applicants, all of the same race. this is not meant to discount anyone's acceptance to princeton or any other college. congratulations!

[li] why you think you were accepted/rejected/defered: See, I like saying I'm a balanced student, but I'm not. I don't (really) play any sports (one-season commitments don't count). And, I don't play an instrument or sing or involve myself in musical productions. I just joined a lot of the non-math/science, academic clubs, like mock trial, Model UN, youth and government, etc. Maybe they thought I was balanced enough.[/li][/ul]Other Factors:
Oh, and my interview went pretty well. At the time, I thought it was mediocre, but compared to the other interviews I had, it was probably my best one.

Talked about Eliot, Dost, Nab, Joyce, Atwood ... yeah, that's all I remember talking about ... for a good 1 1/2 ... Really, I'm not that much of a bookworm ...

Congratulations!

I can't tell if you are just kidding or not in your previous post, but for the record, my s was accepted and he is a white male.

is that your name, bubchub?

BTW....I want to add that my S is a white male, non recruited athlete who got in with an SAT I score of 1420. I wish the admin of this board would remove the racial posts from this thread. People should watch the video from Amherst. Dean Parker is asked if SAT scores are important for getting in. His response is "then we would have a class of only wealthy students".

[] Counselor Rec: Supposedly good. Mostly technical I think.

[] Gender: female
[] major strength/weakness: weakness : Being an almost stereotypical Asian applicant was my weakest point. I think my interests are very cohesive, but I didn't have any stellar, stand-out EC's.
[] why you think you were accepted/rejected/defered: I have NO IDEA. It almost doesn't make sense. Looking over the stats of other acceptees and rejectees, a lot of it's talent but a lot of it's luck, too, let's be honest. I'm just stunned and grateful and my parents are so ecstatic.

[/ul]Other Factors: NO IDEA. Jesus, it's still that feeling of "Princeton?! I don't belong there!"

Amazing.

Best of luck to you all.

admissions really makes no sense. over the past three years, princeton has accepted only one person from my school - a math prodigy who went to harvard (seriously he exhausted all of the high school math courses when he was in SIXTH grade, and then exhausted all of princeton's undergrad math courses before leaving high school). but this year theyve accepted something like 12 between our school and our crosstown rival (total graduating seniors 600), of which only like 3-4 are white, all others are asian. asian males are supposed to have it worst out of all the ethnic/gender groups, so go figure. (and i know that two of them are perfectly normal white males, pyrrhus) elite school admissions (harv, yale, pton, stan, mit) are just very very crazy.

oh and an important fact to note is that our school district is like 45% asian (asian here defined as including the Indian subcontinent)

I'm a white male with no sports. Screwed.

did anyone get their acceptance packet today?? I really so

lol i took that long to edit that post that we had two more posts?

Hmmmm, just saw something interesting...

IF it is Fedex, people here have been a little ambigious (and is that only for acceptances), I"m not sure that they mail on Saturdays. Now, I would think that they do, but the mail options are only for business days.

Any thoughts on mailing? It would be good to know and reasure those who don't get anything today that they aren't rejected.

Did anyone in the Chicagoland get their acceptance/rejection letters today?

Nope, I'm still waiting for mine, ivyleague

It seems to me like they won't be coming to anyone much furthur than New York, Pennslyvania, or DC...

Definitly not to those of us over the Mississipppi.

Well, that is mildly annoying in planning. It will be the last to arrive, and either will be wonderful or sad.

Good luck to all.

this waiting for the mailman game is getting boring. and its raining. hard
