EncomiumII - would you mind telling us about the envelope your decision came in ? Do rejections come Priority Mail, or is it only acceptances?

What I'm trying to figure out is whether or not rejections should take longer to get to us, or if the delays are just normal mail-lag....

raven001...i'm wondering that as well, and from the same location!

my yale, harvard, and MIT rejections were by standard mail. id assume they send rejections by standard mail.

Well Priority Mail IS 2-3 day average, so I don't think that ANYTHING can be deduced at this point, haosquared. But some more information would be nice ! :)

Well my Yale acceptance came standard mail as well....

Thanks for posting jarahul106, and I'm sorry to hear about your decision. Would you mind telling us anything about your envelope?

EncomiumII, I'm very sorry to hear about the rejection from Princeton. I thought your application was a gimme. If the adcoms were readers of CC they would know that most of your posts are on the Princeton board which would give them some help in terms of yield. But as other posters have sited "It's not where you go to college but what you do when you get there."

The RD round was not very kind to me. Oh well, Yale is still my dream school. :)

[li] why you think you were accepted/rejected/defered: After my Yale EA acceptance, I lost a lot of motivation to get my other applications together, and they suffered as a result. I really did like Princeton (I had even considered applying early there at one point), but I think that enthusiasm waned after December 15 and didn't come through in the application.[/li][/ul]Other Factors: I had a very odd interviewer (had never interviewed before, couldn't carry a conversation, looked away and kicked his foot the whole time, had a senile dog that kept sneezing on me, etc. - backward science major ;)).

I was upset when I first got the letter because the mailman had teased me by acting as if he were struggling to fit a large envelope in the mailbox...haha. I'm okay, though - Yale is number one in my book, anyway, and I've had the comfort of knowing I've been accepted to my first choice for a few months.

Oh, and the bright people at the Admissions Office forgot to put the waitlist reply card in my envelope. :)

Congratulations to all the acceptees!

Yeah, Vivaldi, we're all really glad to hear how Yale rocks here on the Princeton board.

haha...I knew you'd appreciate it. Just warming up for this fall. ;)

Waitlisted here too. No rejections..but my instinct says waitlist is just as bad...just prolongs the pain. So now of my top 5 schools, I'm in at harvard and penn (huntsman), and waitlisted at columbia, georgetown, and princeton.

i was hoping to use my 1000th post for something a bit more exciting :</p>

REJECTED
