Official Princeton Rd Decisions

this is kinda old news, last night i wrote in latin

"come on, what makes me an idiot?"

To which j2k5 i believe tried to write

"**** you and the horse you rode in on"

I'm pretty sure what he wrote is gibberish, because I can't find futueo, and he forgot "you rode in on." it more closely resembles.

"I **** you and your horse."

I am really upset i can't find the verb to **** in latin.
I know catullus uses the word fututiones, but it's a made up word from the verb to . Fututiones translates into "ifications" in most texts. I am pretty sure the verb to ** is not 2nd conjugation, which is the only way futueo could exist, and it would be the 1st person singular present indiciative active.

So please j2k5, make sure you're latin is correct before you try to insult me in it. And also, i'd rather not sleep with you, but if you love horses so much, be my guest.

And btw if anyone finds the verb to ****, could you please post the principal parts and some textual examples? thanks.

raises an eyebrow

yay for zante!!

i'm sorry for enco, semp, and slic :( :( u guys were some of my favs.

(i know this is late but i cudn't get to my comp)

kas, u cud go to the tofu shop with tofu shop. lol. sorry that's lame but i found it amusing

Decision: Accepted. Yeah, I know. Late...

Stats:
SAT: 1500 (750 both)
SAT IIs: 790 math II/ 740 Chem, Bio, and Writing
GPA: God knows. I go to a weird school.
Rank: 15/531...I think.
Other stats: National Merit Finalist, Officer of everything that I participate in, except for NHS

Subjective:
Essays: "Creative" and "Too Random" to quote the editors...creative coming from english teacher, random coming from person who goes to pton. Wrote about music, did the "What would you do with one year" essay (or whatever that topic was), and wrote about winning a science competition.
Teacher Recs: Good question. I would like to think that they were good.
Counselor Rec: Never saw it, but she likes me.
Hook (if any): nope, nada.

Location/Person:
State or Country: NJ
School Type: Public
Ethnicity: Asian
Gender: Female
major strength/weakness: No legacies. My school has bad history with Princeton acceptances. My activities resume was way too long, Probably too many activites to be believable (but I seriously found time to do all of them), but a lot of them were short commitments (pit orchestras, etc.), no music recording (parents refused to pay for studio time), horrible senior grades (yes, senioritis hits hard). Valedictorian and salutatorian applied, as well as a bunch of people who are ranked above me, BUT great interview, courtesy of a great interviewer who knew what to ask...really got to important, personal stuff I never put in the app.
why you think you were accepted/rejected/defered: Uhm. Good question. Luck and fate. GREAT INTERVIEW...

P.S. How do you know if you got into the bse program? I said I didn't know what I wanted to do, so I wrote the bse essay as well.

Wow...such a bittersweet day. To the incredible people I've met over the last seven months who will be having an incredible time elsewhere, I'm so sorry (and in shock, in several cases). You all truly are some absolutely amazing people, and it really is Princeton's loss. Seeing that you got into this other fantastic schools is great, though, because that shows just how much you have going for you. Best of luck, and don't be strangers! We still ought to keep in touch, for all the athletic events and other gatherings between the schools...

And to the acceptees, CONGRATS! I hope that you'll choose Princeton, because it's a pretty cool school :) Take advantage of the many links offered to you in various threads, and I hope to see you come September. Tigers Class of '09! :D

iplayoboe - It WAS raining sooooooo hard where you are! Sorry if I sound stalkerish, but we had a meet at your school today and it was positively flooded!!!!

from a recent "archeology" magazine there was a page editorial about new grafiti found in a brothel in pompeii

"fututa sum hic" translates "as i ****ed here"

the online latin dictionary i use to help me translate says that fututa is the rude term to describe this verb. i was not able to find the "polite" term.

http://www.archives.nd.edu/cgi-bin/words.exe?fututa

willow -
i live right by my HS ( i walk to school ) and i heard the announcements in the stadium... i could not believe there was a meet today! i felt really bad for the athletes...
sorry you had to run in such terrible weather!

(speaking of flooded, they actually shut down the turnpike today cause it was under water.)

pegdiver- lol! But who'd choose the tofu shop over the candy shop.

someone healthy? or on a diet? or someone that REAAALLLLLYYY likes tofu? u never know. i might choose the tofu shop every once in a while.

Yeah, our bus did not have a fun time - I swear the bus driver was going to commandeer us through the water. Plus, as soon as we pulled out of the parking lot, I realized that all that Gatorade I had drunk for the 4x800 was catching up to me... 1.5 hours later, my friend made an announcement to "clear the aisle!" because I was sprinting to the bathrooms. Whew, at least I made it!

The school was a good sport - it canceled some events, so we got to get home early! But mine was still going, and that rain felt like needles!

Other:

I'm a little disappointed, since rejection is no fun, but life goes on. I mostly applied to Princeton on the off chance that I could get some financial aid. I'll be at Yale next year, which is what I hoped and planned for all along.

So many outstanding applicants are rejected, you know they're not lying when you look at the stats above. I think its crazy that I was the reverse of the above, getting rejected by Yale and accepted by Princeton, which, for me, was also a better fit. lol im really starting to believe that adcoms know where we belong.
