Official Princeton Rd Results - Class Of 2011

Haha yeah Mallomar, for ED there were OFFICIAL DECISIONS THREAD and OFFICIAL DISCUSSION/RANTING/RANDOM THREAD and then NO STOP IT GUYS, REALLY, THIS IS THE OFFICIAL DECISION THREAD, and so on and so forth.

Maybe the OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL DECISIONS OFFICIALNESS THREAD would work out. Because it's not redundant whatsoever.

EDs cannot go to the accepted student weekend, its strictly for RDs. Which I find interesting.

^Makes perfect sense. The EDs are contractually bound to go to Princeton, so why spend money, time, and effort courting them? That's what the hosting/accepted student events are for: to entice RD accepted applicants to choose Princeton.

I've heard that it's mainly because April Hosting is used to attract students to Princeton and make them matriculate (haha, that sounds so forceful). ED students obviously have to come, so I guess Princeton wouldn't want to waste money on putting on a show for kids who are committed (and who wouldn't be) to attending.

Well those were two nearly identical posts.
Hmm.
I heard that at April Hosting last year there was a pool filled with beer. True?

^I believe that's another one of those rumors to make you want to go lol

What if you are deferred ED and then accepted? Can you go to the hosting? You are no longer bound to go to Princeton. I would think the EDers would want to go anyway, maybe to meet some people and see the campus.

I am fed up with the 60 second rule! :p (Has over 7 tabs open, all with posts waiting to be posted. :))

Haha yeah the 60-second rule is posing a problem the closer and closer we get.

Also, I really hope CC is up and running on Thursday evening. Sometimes it gets overwhelmed and sinks into temporary hibernation (oxymoronic?) and it really frustrates me/makes me feel as though I am missing out on everything.

j07, the pool full of beer was TI (Tiger Inn - the rowdy eating club) -- j/k, all the clubs were off-tap for April Hosting and will be once again this year (which makes sense -- the University doesn't want legal problems stemming from prefrosh debauchery). There were several frat parties on campus where they had alcohol though. I didn't hear about, see, or swim in any pools filled with beer. :D ;)

::Side note - Tiger Inn IS typically a pool filled with beer... but that'll be for you to discover for yourselves:: ;)

Ray, Ed-ers aren't officially invited to Hosting for the reasons mentioned however I have some ED friends who snook in. Basically they came as they normally would at any other time of year to visit, just not through the official April Hosting program (i.e. they had upperclassman friends who could show them around). If you live close enough to campus (NJ is, not surprisingly, the most represented state in every enrolled freshman class), come by!!

I've gotta run now. I'm actually home right now and have to take the train back to campus. It's been fun giving you all advice and chatting. When I get back to school, I'll undoubtedly be wayy too busy to go on CC. I'll definitely be on when you all are getting your decisions (I wouldn't miss it for the world... or for 2 seminar papers and an oral midterm). Again, best of luck to everyone!! :)

Thanks for everything APDoolittle, we all really appreciate you swinging by and your eloquent/funny decision-checking saga. Hopefully I'll meet you at April Hosting!

j07, if you're going to make the new thread sometime, don't copy and paste the template that I may have posted elsewhere because it'll just end up turning into something like what Ernie (hi Ernie, I remember you from ED) posted. I think in another topic I posted a link to templates ( <a href="http://www.freewebs.com/princetondecisions/%5B/url%5D%5B/b%5D">http://www.freewebs.com/princetondecisions/ ) but it probably wasn't conspicuous enough.
I think the best plan would be for you to PM me/arrange a time when you'll start the new thread. That way you can post the usual intro and the link to the site with the templates, and I can make sure to be on so that I can follow up with a template in a post so that we'll have a copy on the boards in the event that the site goes down (don't think it will happen, but we really don't need that happening on the 29th).

Any objections or does that sound good?

Wow guys. You're really into this.

Wow, talk about enthusiasm :)

Hey jimbob, glad to see you back.

It's what everyone wants...to be the one to start the RD thread. Unfortunately for me and most everyone else, j07 should be the one to do it, because she's posted more than most anyone, and she's been around the Princeton forum since before ED decisions. Perhaps we should just let this thread die....

mike, I've been around the whole time, just a different username, take a wild guess.

hmmm, my wild guess will be pinkcrayons. at least its wild.

Now take an intelligent guess.

Mallomarcookie?
